  1. I have a 1985 R Model Chassis with a rescue truck body on it. When the truck is first started the amp meter shows 12V and stays that way until the engine hits 1500 rpm. After that the meter shows 14V with no problems. The original owner told me that the truck was this way from new. Is this normal? If not, any suggestions on what to look for to correct the issue? Many thanks in advance, Mark
  2. To answer a few questions: Engine is a EM6-285 with a Allison HT740D Transmission and 4.25 Rear. The body is a Swab out of Elizabethville, Pennsylvania. The truck was owned the entire time by the Willingboro Fire Company and they have allowed me to keep the lettering on it. An interesting feature is it has a walk through cab into the interior body compartment. NYFD had some and they liked the idea. If you look closely at the front left corner of the body behind the light bar there is a window A/C unit installed - from the factory. It has a 12KW Onan generator and a complete, and still full, air cascade system including the fragmentation container. I did get the truck from bidding on GovDeals. Mike, I hope to bring it to Mack day. Thanks everyone for your comments!
  3. I purchased this 1985 R Model with Swab body last week. Has less that 22k miles and is very clean.
  4. The museum offers the best information as far as I know of. I'm sure someone on here has the same motor and can help identify what you need. Presently there is a Mack motor and transmission on EBay for $350.00 but it is located on the west coast I think. Firemack can also provide a lot of information as he ran the project to restore a B Model pumper.
  5. A few photos of Mack fire apparatus in Camden today.
  6. I will be there Saturday morning - no truck.
  7. Contact Watts Mack - ask for Tracy - they used to carry them in stock.
  8. In this issue of the Pennsylvania Fireman there is an add for a 1950 Open Cab L85. White over black paint and has been in a barn since 1983. Former Williamsport, (Pa?) unit. Add does not state the size of the pump. Contact Brian Manzek @ 607-765-4045
  9. Ernie, best of luck with your Son's surgery. I will keep you all in my prayers. Mark
  10. I checked PAI Industrial Parts - there reference number is HSA-5080. https://www.paiindustries.com/parts/partsearchresult.php?s_keyword=14QK2100 Finditparts should be able to get these for you. Mark

  12. Mike, thanks for sharing and congratulations on your award.
  13. The truck I saw was the Ward LaFrance. From what I saw it only had front end damage but I was viewing it from a lower angle and from the right side. The truck had damage to the right front end with the sheet metal pushed into the passenger door. The passenger door was pushed back significantly at the bottom, not so much at the top. I did not notice any rear end damage but I was focused on the front end. I remember commenting to someone when it pulled into the parking lot that is was a well restored or very clean original truck.
