No Paul, page 63 shows vehicles with Mack L-series (factory) cabs. Many NR's were recabbed with them after the war because L cab was original to early series. An open cab had cowl and floor of the same kind as L-model. Edinbourgh truck has factory L-series sleeper cab, taller. But the black one you see high above has non-Mack cab. Although the cowl, the dash and the flooring are Mack and too probably NR.

Nice b&w old pictures, thanks.
I remember some kind of fair vehicles overhere when I was a kid.

It sucks that you go to the hospital and can pick up stuff worse than what you went in for in the first place. It blows my mind with our health care sometimes. Hopefully everything turns out well for you Mike.
Cheers, Rob
I heard on a radio about such infections right on days. The matter is there are too many anti biotics used in hospitals. It follows by some kinds of too anti biotic reseistant infections those habitates there That's why they are so dangerous.
Hope everything will worked out good.
Best wishes on your health Mike!

Congratulations and a bunch of safe miles in the future!

The 1st of April will ends up in 1 hour here and sad thoughts about Mack and Volvo cooperation will back.
Although nice jokes should be happy

Nice metal pieces, I like 'em
Once I bought Mercedes off-road vehicle with a gasoline V-8 under the hood.
Not running. The owner said "something about engine, no oil in the pan".
First I observed some strange oil trace above the engine top, it looked like oil came out of a deep stick tube.
Took the heads off and saw something like you posted above. With only difference that the rod broke aluminium cylinder lining (Mercedes car V's) and the side wall also, and the oil pan for the company. There was a bunch of oil/coolant mixture and so on. After I took everything apart I found a rod cover's nut in the pan (and the cover itself). Saw another rod cover's bolt broken but the first one solid with the last two tread turns off. So. Somebody tightened rod's nut not good enough and it turned off. The second bolt worked fair and broken.
The most interesting moment. All the 8 plugs were filled with oil/coolant mixture. So it seemed to me that the guy (or more hopefully woman) drove when the nut got off, drove when the cover came off, drove when the piston broken and the rod was breaking the housing. But he or she stopped when coolant came into the plugs and the engine shuted down.

Glad it worked out for you.
Good reason to get one more such clamp to put behind the seat.
-
Hell, too dramatic to read all that on Fool's day.
-
Glad to see most folks support your position Paul.
Liberalism must have its place in the world although there must be both a pancake and a whip, not sweets only.
Hope to learn more about your future rivet works.
You know AC's and rivets both touch my soul so deep

Friends, I always take my hat off about your minds but this time it's recabbed and re-engined NR.
I don't be so shure if I haven't apart complete chassis up to every last bolt and nut spending many evenings to learn what place and way each of them must have.
The chassis number is in its correct place under the hole for pre-heaters cable with a content of about NR4D 9208D.
Paul, if you look on page 62 you can read "NR-14 s/n NR4D8567D-15646D. This truck is of the same butch as my one. With only difference of 1944 year of production instead of my earlier unit that came out from the factory on 19 January 1945.
Although where's the maestro with the correct ch.number?
-
I have one Detroit unit in my garden but I don't think it's the best thing there.
(Mack bogie is no doubt better)
Although it doesn't leak because was leaked out totally many years ago.

I'm also sorry every time when I see some piece of old iron is off it's place where it was for years.
The only cure I know is to place that piece into my own yard.
And it's not 100% guarantee also.
Life has sad moments and we are forced to used to.
Regardless we like it or not.

Thank you, we have the couple of guys here who make enough disaster without Obamas's help.
Or maybe with?
Any way - tssss...

Best wishes, good luck!

Thanks alot Tom,
Pretty nice scenary with snowy rocks, road curves, accidents and the boobage of cource.
And the sign of yellow arches in Winfall is awesome!
Once I saw those scrap rusty coils I thought to myself it was the stuff I need here to fabricate sheet metal for my resto object. Rusty steel looks like it has an age after being sand blasted and painted. And no sheets of inch-sized thikness overhere

Happy birthday guys!
No matter active or not

Hi!
I was surprized too much while looking the stuff you posted.
I'm shure 100% you have a deal with WW2 army Mack model NR of about 1944-45.
Would tell you more if I see a better pic of the chassis number. But we can read NR in front of it and it makes sence.
Frame and the bogie look original, front axle, cab and the engine are aftermarket.
There was Lanova in it years back.
Front axle beam is different from a factory one with budds instead of original spokes.
Fuel tanks, running boards arrangement and the gear box are definitely of NR.
Congrats on the save.
Vlad.

Congrats on the find!
Any thoughts of to keep it flatbed or equipement carrier?
-
Hi!
Sorry for being busy with no answer.
Had no luck observing that stuff because it was far away from me.
Lots of talks on TV and so on.

A bank loan, a lawyer - BS!
I think you don't need to involve yourself into that second story.
Things will go its way and we sorry know it would be.
You better care about the engines and polish up one more car.
-
I like rear fenders on Superliner.
Orange day-cab is nice thing also.
And I like to see the crue - hope you had a good day guys.
-
Have a fun on saving them!
I like R-model color too much!
It reminds me a bit... newermind!

Just had no words for the first moment when read.
It looks to me you didn't need to spend those $500. He just makes his way like you wanted to. Looks like he would increase a criminal until feel a limit. Who knows how much is enough for him? Too sorry that all relates to your family. Do you have the only grand son?

What is the truck on the second picture, aside of the tank trailor?
Diamond-T?
