That's cool!
I mean Alcoa but not the poor KW.
Although I like how modern wheels look.
It's just another time and another story.
-
Looks like a good place to get used stuff.
Thank you for opening the secret.

Living in my beautiful country I'm able to get and do most useful things wich man in civilized world used to.
Although I always need to "sleep with one eye open" because there are many chances to get into a cavit on a flat surface.
Here I go...
Some time ago I contacted Mack Trucks Historical Museum with a reason for a info on my resto project.
Don Schumacher answered me and after some time another guy informed me he sent a package to the adress I gave.
By the word it was my friend's adress in Germany because I'm shure a post will find this point, not as in Russia.
I picked up the pack and found what I was asked for.
And all was nice so far.
I contacted the museum again and asked of could I make donation using a credit card or PayPal.
They answered "not, but we can recieve "Western Union".
I felt no worries to that point because W.U. is commonly used here.
Being in the nearest office I said of what I want but got an answer "Money transfers to physical persons only", not to organizations/companies.
The central office doubled that fact.
I was going to email the museum again but came into solution it's not nice to disturb good guys so much with a stupid reason.
They would be glad to get a bit of extra $$ I hope but they better spend their time they have not enough to support another people who really need their help.
The matter of question: I'm shure there is a lot of people on here who use PayPal.
It would be nice if someone would get my poor $50 onto his PayPal account and resend it via Western Union or any other acceptable way to the museum. If any comission is required I will cover it for shure.

Thanks alot.
My truck has the shocks as KamAZ front shocks all around.
By the word, now I know they're Mack related, isn't it?
I think I better should put them originals in, maybe it will run smoother on road cracks.
-
And there are the 8 holes on the each rail (4 up and 4 down) wich were used to fix typical tandem frame crossmember.
About the chassis number - did any SW's also have a rear location, and if yes - what a point of?
-
Strange way to make up a Mack truck on my mind.
Would be interesting to see of what this vehicle will look like one day.
-
Let me toss a question in the ring.
I have my R688ST with 3 leaves front springs and Neway airride.
What shock absorber part number I should keep with?
To my big sorry Mack museum hasn't recognized my truck so I probaly have no chances about production record.
Or is it more question to Barry?

Damn nice R-model wrecker!
I really want it !!!
And RW also. Anybody - stop me on this way!The girl with the hyps leg is as nice as the young bird.
-
I also remember this picture but can't recognize the source.

Cool pics!
Too nice to see Aussie truck pictures from the first hand.
Haven't seen some of these Macks in the net.
And it's very interesting to see Atkinson over there with a Roo bar.
Does it have RHD? ... Oh, hell, sorry. They're all RHD for shure!
-
Thank you for the details, Steve.
I sorry can't pay my attention to anything I see anywhere but it's nice to get a basic info to make a general sence.
-
Too interesting to read those facts.
Thanks alot for posting it.
-
I double it, 37QR531P3 is a Mack part number for shure.
It's a bit strange to me but NR model wich was built too close to LFSW had the chassis number on a left frame rail in front, just above the front spring.
Still haven't seen or heard about any L-models with the same location.

I had to fit 12.00R24's tubes instead of 11.00-24's because couldn't find correct ones.
The bigger tyres set well, you can see it.
And the color is just the US army one of WW2 time.
I spent a bunch of time and labour to identify and mix it by the word.

Looks like you guys had a great weekend.
Vinny, thank you for sharing.
I like Brokways, Dodge, and bus.
And now I know how really Maddog's B is beautiful.

Looks cool!
Not so cool to work over if I understand right.
Hope to see the dog in all its glory soon.

The rims of my 1945 NR fit onto the hubs that way.
There is a plate welded on the inner surface of a rim wich you should place between the two spokes.
Those spokes have special ribs on the sides opposit to each other so there is a space quite to fit the rim's plate in.
That way a rim can't turn over the hub being locked with a plate. The air nippel slot is just in the middle of the plate.
You can also install a rim with the plate between any other 2 spokes but there aren't the ribs and the space is wider.
A rim would play around the hub having some extra space for.
There are 2 pairs of spokes with the ribs (of all 6 spokes) just opposit to each other so there are 2 position to fit a rim.
I think a rim wouldn't really turn over a hub so hard and that all is a kind of additional securing.

I tried to buy it, guy was pretty un willing to help or answer some questions.
Maybe he's just such a kind of man.
It's his truck for shure and his way to addvertize it.
Looks like it will lay down the yard for a long.
There are no engine pics also.
Let's wait for some time.
There were no bids, maybe he'll be more active for the next attempt.
Haven't you got his contact info excepting ebay? (Don't want you to tell it me, just wonder).

Thank you, Ken.
Stephen has the truck of a brother-in-law kind to my one, that's why I showed this stuff up.

I had no luck taking the tyres off the rims and brang them to a shop.
Guys took them off with some labour but were going to brake the lock wheel because they didn't know there were rivets to keep the ring and the lock ring together.
After sand blasting and painting I assembled 10 wheels to the moment with no troubles.
Started to inflate them slowly being shure the lock ring seated well. Inflated up to the pressure securing the assembly with a couple of ropes.
