  1. Last week I would have said I wanted another storm but after the little taste of spring we had this week I'm done with the snow this year!
  2. Very interesting. 3,000 not bad if I had the mechanical knowledge to do it in house I would do it in a heartbeat. It's not worth the big money to have someone do it though. The truck runs good the way it is but I was just had the idea for less maintenance and fatigue. When I add another truck it will be an automatic!
  3. That's what i was thinking. Just want to see if anyone has done it or knows the cost.
  4. That Black Granite with the spokes is sweet! I really wish I was able to go this year. I have to make it a point to get to the next one in 4 years. Post more pics when you can!
  5. I'm just curious and couldn't find the answer anywhere....Is it feasible to swap a 13 speed Mack transmission with an Allison Automatic in a 1999 RD 400HP E7? Any idea on cost? I know automatic adds around $15K to a new truck. My buddy and I were having a discussion on this the other night and he bought a automatic truck and couldn't stop saying how much he liked it. I'm just wondering if its a possibility when my truck needs a new/rebuilt trans.
  6. That is one sweet truck. Love the colors. I would love to buy a single axle R like that.
  7. This is just my opinion but I wouldn't even consider Ford for anything over a 550. There are so many other options out there. Personally I would buy a Mack MHD single axle with an Allison trans.
  8. Exactly my point. There making pickups that are capable of towing more weight but doesn't mean the average Joe behind the wheel is.
  9. 31,200 LB towing capacity seems like a lot for a glorified pick-up truck.
  10. I agree. I was reading this last night. I think it's a big mistake by Ford. First is putting the 6.7L as the only diesel option which I have one in a F450 and think it would be severely under powered in a 33,000 class truck. Next not using Allison so they are putting in a pick up truck transmission too? Doesn't make any sense. Looks don't make you money.
  11. I guess that's it. The "Born Ready" slogan and redesigned bulldog and logo? I was expecting more at least new truck design or something.
  12. What's in 11 days? I thought the announcement is tomorrow 3/4/14 at Con-expo?
  13. Dusting here in Central Jersey!
  14. Same here they keep flip flopping the forecast. They get people in a panic. Moved snow today for a friend. Nothing like waiting to the last minute.
  15. Nice truck! I was looking for a R or RD single axle but I couldn't find one in good shape.
  16. As much as I'm ready for spring. I feel that if it's going to be cold it might as well snow. I wouldn't mind a few more storms to end a already great season!
  17. Thanks for the info! I have to find some more of his old pictures. He ran his own trucking business for a while then drove for Preston till he retired.
  18. Classic Jersey R Model pictures I took as a kid when they were fixing a watermain break in front of our house.
  19. One of my grandfathers old Jersey trucks. I think it's a Mack but I do know he owned one Brockway and White so I'm not sure. Does anyone know the model? I believe late 40's early 50's in Bayonne. He own some b modelss too but I have to find the pictures.
