  1. just be careful not to get em hot whith stock (factory) mack heads. They will drop a valve everytime..... My friend went thru 3 heads before he bought heads from Francise. He talks to Francise all the time and is building a pulling truck with all his components right now..... Anyway My friend John says Dale Francise pushes the vavle seats in twice as hard as Mack does and keeps the vavles from getting loose and dropping.

In my eyes Francise is a Mack genius and will steer u straight every time.

I cant wait till mine is done so I can pass Petes.......

  2. Francise Engineering is the place to go. Dale has everything.

The only hard part about changing the timing I can see is the fuel pump itself. But its just a money thing there. I always wanted to get rid of the cam and use a soleonoid to move the vales. The cam and push rods are the only hold up for high RPM's.

  3. Take the fill plug out the trans and build upair press. first. Shut the truck off and listen for air leaks inside the fill plug. WE had a 9 spd one time that just had a bad O ring in the air shift fork. But more than likely it is a clutch pac. u never know there is just that chance . GOOD LUCK.

  4. No its not a Magnum, but it does have the E9 in it.

As for the light bar clearance issue. I cut the square tubing and notched it up into the frame. It sits no further back than the frame rail itself. I did move the 5th wheel anyway cause of the fenders. I put a 5th wheel slide all the way to the back of the frame to help get under trailers and to clear the fenders too. Ive put alot of thought in it all and hope it works as planned.

  5. Is the mike gain turned all the way up? Mike gain is how loud u are.  Is it a cobra 29 ltd? It should have a built in swr meter if so.  Did u put the antenna mount together right? The plastic piece goes on top the aluminum mount,( common mistake) if this is not right the radio will not function right at all.  There is many things it can be.....

  6. Well what I ment by this was.  From present to about 5 yrs ago a base mack was Eaton rears or trans. So if u wanted Mack drive train it was an ordered option.

Well now the Mack drive train is in on the basic trucks and u have have to request for any different drive train brands if u want.

Now all they need to do is bring back the E9... LOL

  7. Hey convoyduel I know the truck u are talking about, cause its the one I tried to by and it was in south St. Lois.  The guy does own a lot of old heavy haul trucks there.

Im telling u this truck was E-MACK-ULANT lol.  The fuel pump was the only issue, and I was told last weekend someone in Arizona bought the truck as is and drove it home with the pump issues what a fool.

The pump would not idle down after it was warmed up.  The rack was sticking.  That guy was a fool for driving it home like that.  O well I hope he made it home.
