  1. Hey Rob the pics are of the MH in my gallery.  I need to find the drivers side front fender piece (by the step) and try to order all new cab rubbers for the old girl.  I'm thinking dark blue frame with a baby blue cab and some wti fiberglass full fenders.

    What u guys think?

  2. Well first of all I agree with most things said here.  I'm 32  and have been in the operators union for 10 yrs.  Ya the benefits are good, but I'm quitting cause of the old " I cant see it from my house" attitude is to much for me.  Its hard to work with 8 people who dont care about the job and 2 of u do.  It kinda gets old.

But then again I blame it mostly on the great state of Illinois.  U cant just keep milling off 2" off a road and laying back 2".  All these roads have 50+ years old drainage that need fixed, and that is why all the roads go to crap in a year or less.

Well I do have some retirement built up in the union, but dont know many that can survive on 30,000 for 3 yrs in a row and maybe 60,000 the next then back to 30,000.  U never get caught up.  Rich get richer and poor get poorer.

But then again I think that attitude I see in most people is that computers replace people and there arent many jobs out there.  I think people now days are just plain lazy cause I always find a NONUNION job driving in the winter and dont draw unemployment.  I would rather work than sit at home and collect rocking chair money, thats just the way i was raised.

With all that said I going to put my truck on the road and try to make my own living...

  3. Well I went off and got a loan to fix up the old Mack and put her on the road. Yep thats right I going to be a selfemployed truck driver. Scariest move I think I will ever make, but worth it in the long run.

So on the other note! I will post up some pics of the old girl getting painted up and ready for the road. Wish me luck...

  4. I really like the Dynaflex Exhaust that is on the market right now. I will tell u guys what im looking for and hope I get some better ideas and feedback.

Im thinking 6" duals on an MH with an E9. I would like the lengths to be able to be changed ( reason why I think Dynaflex is the best choice). I need to have short stacks to clear the asphalt plant and some tall ones to pull vans in the winter.

I have never been around them and think their design would be ideal for what im wanting to do. I know they are expensive, but im kinda restoring the truck to working condition and do want a nice set of stacks.

When looking at the 4 States catalog it looks like the Freightliner 6" kit may work for my application.

Any feed back will be greatly appreciated before spending that much money. Thanks in advance ~Joe

  5. Ya the 03 427 my grandpa had was converted to a 460 with a fan change and a computer upgrade that they said u can no longer get. They said it was an off road computer upgrade. Im here to tell ya that thing got 38 pounds of boost and ran like a big dog. Im sure u can still get that upgrade with some persuading.

  6. U might get some soapy water in a spray bottle and spray all ur joints with the truck running. My old man used to find cac air leaks by spotting dirt lines on your steel piping where the rubber joints clamp down. Just a couple things to try... Later ~Joe
