  1. It has the V pump on it. I would like to have the inline pump, but would have to change the lines and everything for that. It may be worth it. I'd buy one from a pump shop but its 5 grand and the guy cant even tell me how fuel ill be getting.

  2. I'm sorry for askin so many questions but i only have the overhaul manual. How many CC's of fuel does a stock E9 500 get. Im trying to see if the guy doing the pump work in the area is giving me my best bang for the buck. Ill guess that its about 120 cause a 300 E6 gets about 90. I need to locate the other manual for this motor if anyone has any leads that would be great.. Thanks again ~Joe

  3. I was wondering if anyone knows what a canadian spread would measure out at. That being said measuring from the center of the front to the center of the rear drives. Was there anything called a Western spread if so were they used on Macks. I would appreciate so info if posssible. Thanks Joe

  4. There should be a round cylinder looking thing the front of the fuel pump(its about 3 or 4 inches long). The air hose should run behind the water pump to the top of the intake. Then to another cylinder with 1 more hoses on it. Its called an aneroid valve. Most of the time if its disconnected they do run better, cause most people dont shim the cylinder on the pump side. When its unhooked it lets u get full fuel at low RPMs. When its hooked up it holds the rack back till u get so much manifold pressure then releases the fuel(It does this to not allow the truck to smoke). There should be a PLE# on the side of the fuel pump to tell u what to shim it at, the numbers should read 1051~1081 or something like this. If its done correctly the truck should not smoke and have power on the low end.

  5. Well i got it home. Little rougher than i thought, but O well.. It only turns about 2350 It might get a little more. Needs more fuel too. I was gonna chek the torque on the buttress, run it for a while then check them again. Ill get some pics soon. ~Joe Thanks for the help guys its alway appreciated!!!!!!

    I finally aquired a bulldog with an E9. Im gonna use it for extra cariculare activity(mostly abuse). How many Rpm's will this thing turn with a stock set of heads? How often should i chek those buttress screws (bolts in the lower side of the block to hold the mains)? Ill post some pics when I get it home Saturday! thanks ~Joe :chili:

  7. There wwill be Semi truck pulls in Pontiac,IL. Its off of Interstate 55 to exit 197 then back east 2 miles. It starts at 5pm. There will be 2 classes ITPA 20,000# class and the local semi class.. All dogs are welcome. I'll be there if i dont burn it up Friday nite. Hope to see ya guys there...~Joe :SMOKIE-LFT:

  8. Sounds like its running better. Id still check the puff limiter most pump shops dont shim the correctly.(on the front of the injection pump) It usually causes low power on the low end. most of the time i just un hook it.

    My 2 cents on the V8's is they arent junk.. Most of them had broken cranks cause noone would check the torque on the buttress screws. Other than that ive have not heard any bad things about em. If u ask me the horsepower is unbelievable it would be great for pulling a lowboy.

  9. The only places on the frame i have ever seen crack are behind the cab, or by the spring hanger shackle on the passenger side ( mostly due to the notch in the frame from the factory). Also when they double frame macks keep in mind they start the process at the front shock mount not at the very begining. If it were my guess thats where it cracked right at the shock mount.
