  1. Hi all, just another update. We have been working hard on the Cruiseliner but ran into a bit of a problem. The guys who painted the truck red painted everything. We had a hell of a job removing the paint from the brake pipes/ valves and other frame fittings. This was long hard work.We dont know what paint was used but paint stripper didnt work much.We then thought about putting new pipes on but can only get metric pipes fittings ect which wont fit the valves so cleaning scraping and sanding was our only option.Progress was painfully slow...We are now about 10 days behind were we thought we'd be.Anyway back to work!!!... Paul
  2. That Darr would make a very interesting and ultra rare truck on the show scene Geoff. What engine/transmission does it have? I like the B model mack too but with no title it cannot be imported to Ireland...Pity... Paul
  3. Nothing like having a go yourself. We are painting our Cruiseliner ourselves at the moment...... Paul
  4. I dont know how its done in the US but in Ireland 20 to 30 years old is considered " Classic vehicle" and 30 years old on is considered "Vintage vehicle". So its a classic with me!!!! Looks fantastic after the clean up.... Paul
  5. I was about 800 meters underground on a 12 hour shift running a loading shovel. It was around 2pm in Ireland when that awful day in New York started. We didnt come up to surface untill 8pm so we were possibly the last people in Ireland to hear about it.My daughter's birthday is the 11th of September and when I got home from work her party was just coming to an end.Her friends were being collected from our house by their folks who were all in tears.I just looked at my wife and kids and said what the f?€k is going on in the world...We visited Ground Zero a few years later to pay our respects.... Paul

  15. Just a little update on our progress so far.The frame has got 2 coats of CIP (rust stop primer) and 2 coats of coloured primer. It is now ready for 2 top coats of finnish paint. It took 2 weeks to sand clean and apply the primer coats. The cab has been stripped and prep for paint has begun.A small window in the sleeper, added by the 3rd owner is being removed and new aluminum is being welded in.5th wheel,5th wheel mounting frame, battery boxes and air tanks have been stripped and primed along with fuel tank brackets and straps...man this is the biggest resto Iv ever undertaken...... Paul
  16. Good on ya Bob.Its great when another part is done and works the way it should...As for the girls...all come with the same program in the head, doesnt matter where theyre from its the same carry on.....they ask for something to be done when you are enjoying yourself....My old man always said dont try to understand them you'll drive yourself nuts...... 18. Ah so sorry to hear Molly passed on.She was by your side so much. The pictures are lovely.I know how you feel at this moment.20 odd years ago the kids wanted a dog which I was totaly against but was over ruled.Anyway this little Cain Terrier was got from the dog rescue. She was sitting shakeing in fear at the back of a kennel. The kids picked her and when I heard her history I was both heartbroken and angry. She was found strapped to a fence with barbed wire. She was afraid of me but went to the kids and the wife.Clearly wherever she was the man of the house abused her badly.Over the next 6 months she learned to trust me and we went everywhere together. We had a wonderful 14 years with "Bunty"but she got cancer and passed.I cant bring myself to get another dog as the heartache when she passed was too much to do again.Im with you Paul I know how your feeling.RIP Molly. Paul
