  1. Yes, this was Deere's first attempt at an articulated 4WD tractor. My comment concerned higher horsepower row-crop 2WD tractors.
  2. Trade shows I think. What you see is what is there. It is mounted on a plywood board. The lights work when plugged into 110V using a 12V converter.
  3. Nice pics. Always good to see these items again and again and again.... I told Don to give me a call if they ever sell the MH front clip.
  4. Thanks Mike. I will give him a call.
  5. John Deere built at least one prototype tractor with a GM 6V engine. I saw it in person and also remember seeing an advertisement. The end result was development of the "intercooler" or aftercooler using jacket water to cool the intake air (to gain more power). The 4620 was the final product (turbo and intercooler). The main reason Deere did not use the 6V was because of limited forward visibility caused by the V configuration. I believe Kinze sold a kit to repower Deeres with a 6V engine. Not sure if they offered kits for other tractor brands.
  6. Ron, thanks for the complete explanation. I knew about the yellow and red but I NEVER touch the BLUE valve even when bobtailing. So that is why I asked its purpose.
  7. He will need it if he installs straight exhaust pipe(s). A good idea to sound insulate the cab with matting.
  8. The air is still leaking down over a few days. It seems the air leaks down quicker when the trailer lines are disconnected. I bought a TP (tractor protection) valve from Barry. I am going to replace the TPV and see if it helps prevent leakdown. BTW, does anyone know what the Blue knob/valve does? I never use it, just the Yellow (without trailer) and both Yellow and Red with trailer.
  9. Before I retired, we were starting to field test some prototype PC-11 oils. Some of those numbers mentioned were fuel economy tests done for us. The big question will be, can lighter oils be used in older engines? The last thing a fleet wants is to handle 2 oils and make sure the right oil gets in the right engine. One engine OE is having issues with oil aeration. They pushed for an aeration test as part of PC-11 certification. Last time I remember, it costs about $1million to run the 11 certification tests (and that is without any fails/repeats).
  10. Chassic Mounted Charge Air Cooler. It is a large radiator like heat exchanger mounted in front of the radiator.
  11. Dang, I am outta likes again!
  12. Nice pics. Like the Ford LouiS-ville.

  14. Wow, so much information from just a picture. Green Dash is right....much more than just a picture.
  15. Could be gold but definitely striped. Also the Fs have dual air stacks.
  16. It appears all the trucks have whitewall tires. Anyone else notice?
  17. Looks great! Do you have an audible air leak? If not, perhaps the compressor governor needed replaced.
  18. Damn, damn, damn....would love to have a R like that or a tanker! VERY NICE looking truck!! Lucky bast...guy.
  19. unfurnished. might be an alternative to building a storage shed for my junk stuff.
  20. What is the going price of a container?
  21. At least it is not a Mack.
  22. Hey Doug...been there, done that. At least you did not come home empty handed.
  23. I am staying at the Rodeway Inn; Akron, PA. It is an "old time" motel (park in front of the door) but is clean. I stayed there 3 or 4 times and never had an issue. The hotel is about 7 miles to Gerhart's. Senior rate is $63 (regular rate $70). Not much for breakfast but I usually eat at the Lititz Family Cupboard (on the way to and about 2 miles from Gerhart's). There is an Italian restaurant within walking distance from the Rodeway and has GREAT pizza. Oregon Farms (another stuffit buffit) is about 5 miles south of the hotel. http://www.rodewayinn.com/hotel-akron-pennsylvania-PA534?listpos=1
  24. Person #3 is Tom Mcllrath (from 2012 Show - screen name?) Person #6 is Back in Black (name?) Persons 7 and 7a?
