  1. I had been wanting to see a photo of your AC crane - I just "fingered" out how to look up your album - I am slow at this. Have you done any work to it since that picture?

It's all stripped down. Got most of the new parts for the engine including pistons from EGGE Machine and rods converted to insert bearings, did bearings and seals on the transaxle and started welding up around 300 + cracks in the chassis. Work kind of slowed in the summer as I got real busy when scrap was high, I try to work on it at least one full day a week, I'm about 30 weeks behind. Paul

  2. Won't happen til somebody with big onions and no I owe you pay back, gets elected. Heck a few states wanted photo ID card for voters,, no cost to the applicants, just prove you are a citizen and who you are... Nope it will stop minority voters. Collecting welfare , food stamps, unemployment, medicad or section 8 housing you get randon drug testing. nope, violates their right to privacy... a few states N.Y included tried to impliment "deportation by denial" , cutting of benefits to non citizens and non resident aliens, no welfare, food stamps or health care....period! Nope we're violating their rights. Now Washington will allow welfare reciepiants to use their atm cards in cassinos, liqour stores and bars. The more dependant they are on the BIg Nipple the more they will vote to keep the status quo. Just my blue collar, christian, politically incorrect view. Paul

  3. after what you have been through, I would think you would have one Get out of Jail Free Card.

Used it already , apparently I talk in my sleep...........stuff about carrots in the garage , the dogs driving my car ...you know important stuff. Just enough to ruin mammas beauty sleep.

  4. This has really gotten out of hand. Why not restart the CCC camps like in the 30's? It would let people learn how to work while they drew unemployment so they would be more apt to keep down a job when they find it. They could do all sorts of things like Mark said - clean the damn ditches if nothing else. Oh no - physical work would violate their rights. I guess my dad was violating some right of mine when he taught me to swing an axe.

I do feel empathy for a lot of the folks - every one, even if they do not know it yet, feels better when they are a contributor to society and their own welfare. We have turned into a nation that is on average three generations away from rural life. A lot of these folks just have never held a axe, they never had to. I don't know the answer to how to teach them to work, but what we are doing now, which is basically throwing money at the problem with no results, sure as hell is not working.

    "

Because the seiu and the csea and nea would all cry foul..."you're taking away jobs from us (that we won't do because we're to good for that type of work.)"

  5. We have a company called BLUE LINK near us that supplies building materials to the lumber yards and big box stores, they favor the older units because they have less problems. On the other side of the coin, Brookhaven, NYDOT and USDOT are just completing a rail link for containers and trailers and the cut off for entry is no older than 6 years for a power unit. Lots of older trucks (my Marmon and R included) are just more dependable. Paul

  6. Went to my yard ealy this morning to look at it. As long as the chassis is not bent, I'm going to fix it. Where I rolled it was apparently on the grass shoulder. My new roll back seem just scrapped up with one broken bed lock and the light bar bent. The nose is gone. the cab was cut by the F.D. rescue, but thats SOP. The right fuel tank is flat and the stacks gone, but I wanted duals any way My cousin had it running and moved it into my shop right after it was dropped off so thats a plus. Looking at the front I think that the first car went under my front tire, theres paint on the bottom of my bumper and on the bottom of the steer axle. Wish Rob was closer.... Paul

  7. Not being able to work the kast month, I got to watch alot of cartoons and news (hard to tell which is which) I learned I was raised wrong! I grew up thinking a job was a job as long as I took care of me and mine it was good. Didn't matter if it was shoveling poop or driving a truck. Work is work as long as the money is green, no more unless your the boss all the rest is beneath you. . I do see where we are killing our own skilled labor pool. The Cat dealer where my grandson works needs a pair of "techs". The tech needs mechanical ability only, no diagnostic skills. The dealers reasoning is they have a parts room for that. Change parts till it's fixed. What a real suprise is, so far all the people who applied are Hispanics and Eastern Europeans. Why is that? Paul

  8. glad that youre ok but hate to hear about the truck and i hope the pricks that caused the wreck are in jail for a long time

The way things work in N.Y. they're probably driven new cars already cause theys po chillins, like obamamama

  9. At 9 a.m. I had 3 kids in jap cars racing / running from the Sheriffs on the LIE at exit 62. One went to cut in front to shoot off the exit and clipped the left front of me. The other 2 side swipped me on the right. Next thing I know I was on the was to Stony Brook Hospital. I haven't seen the truck yet, but the Sheriffs and the NYDOT says the truck ended up off the highway on its side and the Sheriff is witness says it was unavoidable and not my fault. Mamma says the entire right side is damaged from the bumper to the end of my NEW bed. Probably looks worst than it is.

David I'm going in to my shop tomorrow for a little while, I have to have mamma take me, my pick up is too high and my car is too low so I get to ride in her Crown Vic. Paul

  10. The first and second pictures present French Mack. The thuck beside the B is an Berliet, and the semi trailer was made by Coder, an french society in Marseille (dead now). The yellow R was built in France, in the Bernard Factory, in 1966, and sleep now in Auvergne, in the collection of an friend of mine. The pictures 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 present Spanish Mack,

THanks for the ID's, I posted what was sent to me with the explainations. Klaus is Deutsch and a sneaky one at that. :)
