    The casting that positions the spring clips and center bolt is always wet and full of rust/scale.Were there originally rubber plugs or grommets to keep this bowl dry?

    I hope the mixer cab with no glass is kept covered,otherwise it`s being left to rot,not saved.

    So there`s no point in ever using 5`th low or direct,right?5`th low is lower than 4`th Hi and 5`th direct is virtually the same as 4`th Hi.

    When shifting from 3`rd to fourth gear,my tranny will not go into 4`th gear until the revs drop below 1000 rpms.I`m never pulling anything but if I was, wouldn`t that be lugging,and not good for the engine?This is a double overdrive transmission w/ a 5.78 rear ratio.

    Actually,given the size of the show at Macungie,there`s not that much in the way of vendors selling parts,IMO.

    Reading the earlier posts,does anyone know what happened to Rob and Mad Dog? They were very active on here,then nothing.Same with Vinny,the U model fanatic.Any one ever hear from these guys?

    I like the look of the pintle area,gives a finished look,and is different from the usual treatment.

    I just used new rubber gaskets on my 673,there was no sealer on the old ones.

    I didn`t know that S/P switches were ever used in gas engines.As for electrical,are the breaker panel contacts corroded or oxidized?
