  1. Are the elephant pads more for forward and back movement? From what I have seen anyway. If that’s the case you will see The “T” marks on the front and or backside of the “buckets”. Sometimes the big centering dowl on the springs rusts away to nothing.
  2. Bushings/shaft…take your pick.
  3. I believe worn trunions will cause excessive play. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
  4. Check the condition of your torque rod. Also Mack allows for a couple of inches of travel.
  5. If that doesn’t fix it try a DEF quality sensor.
  6. “Mot/5246-16” is a code telling you that “Mot/3516-18” has been on for a while and the operator has ignored it and that you must do something now. Most likely machine went into derate. I see there are three codes but only two posted. I would say check your Diesel Exhaust Fluid level and make sure no one added anything but Quality Diesel Exhaust fluid. If you don’t know drain the tank and put quality DEF in it.
  7. There could be! If there is it’s hidden somewhere….These things are hard because everybody has a different way of wiring things and you never can get any info on them. So it’s almost always a search and find and it’s usually a very slow process. I feel your pain.
  8. That’s very possible too. The fact that everything isn’t working makes me think broken connection between a truck side harness and the aux harness or whatever you want to call it.
  9. If you haven’t already I’d say trace some wires back towards the cab to see where they go. I bet along the way you find the connection. Might have to cut a lot of zip ties….
  10. Did you check under the truck/along the frame rail for a large wire/connector plug? Usually up fitters will use this style from the truck side and join it into the dump body or whatever it is on the back. A lot of times that “plug” can come loose. It takes all your functions from the cab and transfers it to the back and then splits off to everything. You might have this or you might not.
  11. Also if you get one, ask for the purge valve too. It’s held in by a snap ring on the bottom.
  12. Let us know if you can’t find it.
  13. Let the truck build air pressure and stand outside of the truck and look to see where the air purges at. That’s where your air dryer is at and the cartridge is on top of it.
  14. Also keep in mind a lot of times diesel fuel and soot looks alot like oil. Also is the truck smoking at all?
  15. It also looks to be leaking around the gasket and not just the stud.
  16. That is a lot of oil for a leaking stud, maybe clean it off and see how much it really leaks. It could have been leaking a while before you got it. If it leaks a lot again I’d suspect something on that cylinder. You could also have a slight leak on the bottom oring on that eup.

It doesn’t always come with extended crank times. A lot of times they do but not all the time. I would suggest looking for air bubbles in the return. Then report back.

Also if it’s cups you would pry notice it getting worse loaded and pulling hills. Anytime the cylinder pressures get higher.

You can get yourself a clear line and hook into the return and check for bubbles.
