  1. 880 joe has a good point, especially if you do not want to dig in to the newer engine, and just want to run it.. i hope you dig into the bad engine and try to build a 'long block' to put on the shelf for later.. Jojo
  2. If the cam part number is the same, ( the number is stamped into the front hub of the cam, you can pull the timing cover to see it) you should be able to pull the cam, put an offset cam key ( white side out) then put your turbo and injectors in the new engine.. This should allow you to keep the 460XT ECM... I am not sure about the pistons. Jojo
  3. we do use 'Taps and Dies' as well. I have a thread chasing kit. They are less aggressive than taps and dies. good for cleaning existing threads.. Gooday to ya' Paul.. Jojo
  4. When our family had the house in Gray Maine, we raised Chickens turkey's and Pigs.. We always had fresh meat and eggs.. Yes we had a large garden too.. I miss those days..
  5. Thread Chasers here Paul.. all good, and get's the job done..
  6. Hippy,, I read the ''Dipstick'' one out loud to my wife , and instantly she said..... ''That's Fu%#in Stupid'' Just add oil..''
  7. I believe so, but web searches are B.S.. Not as ''Country'' here as it was when I lived in Maine..
  8. So my wife came home from the grocery store today, in a bad mood... Chicken Thighs: $1.79/lb....... Pork Chops: $6.49/lb...... Never mind Beef prices.. What I'm asking is......... How do we find meat farmers who sell fresh meat and maybe ship it, and at an affordable price.? I have looked locally on the Web, but it seems like the info is hidden, and you have to connect with a sales site rather than the farmer/butcher.. Jojo
  9. Where in Portland was this truck? Assuming you meant Maine... Jojo
  10. Yep, I lived in Rangley Maine, 30 years ago.. I worked at the transfer station. We had a ''Bargain Barn'' You picked what you liked and weighed it on a scale, then recorded what it is and you name and address, (optional).. Some days folks would just come to the bargain barn just to poke around.. I liked it..
  11. https://www.paiindustries.com/.. I got an E-mail today from these guys.. Hopefully this link will be of some use for someone here.. I think you can sign up for a monthly parts catalogue..
  12. There is a hole in the frame on the left, between the drives. It is about 1 1/2" diameter. In the hole you will see a slot for a large screwdriver. To adjust the height, you loosen the smaller bolt near the hole and then rotate the slot with a screwdriver.. this will move the control valve, which will raise or lower the frame. Have you adjusted air ride on any other trucks before?
  13. Welcome to the Dog Pound
  14. I would grab as many books as i could from the trash, but missed a lot of them.. I recently pulled 3 perfect CAT engine books from the trash. I think they are 3306 books, for stationary generators.. I'm thinking about listing them for sale, so someone can use them..
  15. Thats a tall order.. usually there are several books.. Not knowing exactly what you want, maybe, ''Crash Books'' would be what you want.. You may have to look for specific books like , engine, transmission, cab,, etc:
  16. It's because I follow your posts.. I read almost all of them.. 😜
  17. Bob ?? You moved some stuff in your garage and found a Brand New Truck??? Damn... I need your problems..
  18. Did the CL end in 2000 ?? Another great Working Dog that went away..
  19. I have always been a fan of the cl,it model , myself.. I dont see why you couldnt stick it in there..
  20. https://wellertruck.com/ I have used this company for (2) 1070B transmissions.. Jojo
  21. I assume you are checking for backlash in the box, at the steering box and not at the steering wheel?
  22. Bob ???? I believe you are commenting on Matt's truck , in the wrong thread... LOL
  23. Now that's funny right there, I don't care who you are... Oh Lord be with the starving pigmies in New Guinea...
  24. Im about to get 10 Stainless steel control boxes.. they are 2' wide by 3' tall and 8'' deep. with all the copper guts and wires.. I expect $30+ for the guts per cabinet, and then who knows what the cabinets are worth.. I made a gun safe out of a 6' tall one and an ammo case out of one a little smaller than the ones im getting. all of these are outside and weather proof.. the door gaskets are better than a refridgerator door seal..
  25. 4 miles, at 30 mph, tops.. and yes.... I are one...
