  1. can't think of many other honorable opportunities that would top that, sadly as you wrote the numbers of survivors is slowly dwindling down. three of my uncles were in WWII. two never talked of their experiences. one was involved at battle of the bulge ; survived being a P O W, received the PURPLE HEART .
  2. mutual thoughts on this end. might not be to far off in future. can't take much more of CT. would also be first time in 60 + yrs I would look forward in going to school.
  3. only thing comparable to the dynatard is a pack of fireworks bought at local dollar store. both make a little pop pop po noise and not much more. LOL
  4. is that set up consider a jacobs ??
  5. I always enjoy interesting reading material. will print/ and have something to read in am with coffee, much better then having to talk to w---! you know
  6. YOU ARE ONE LUCKY person to have a mate capable of driving big rig. NOT saying women can't it's just having a mate that can tends to show she has common sense. and based on pictures you have shown of Her ;; darn pretty also.
  7. THANK YOU and to all those taking the time to remember. I won't ever receive a flag at my tombstone , but always take the time while at the Cemetaries to straighten any and ALL flags touching the ground. Never let Old Glory touch the ground OR wave at night without a lite shining on Her.
  8. ok , now someone help the ole man ;;;; Im guessing that picture is of a Jacobs not dynatard ; and what's the purpose of the spring on push tube??? I say it keeps tension on tube to rocker ???. how's the push rod made ::: screw together with replaceable parts ?? at least it's a positive to see mechanical changes NOT electronic.
  9. for that model it may be different with blue/ gray. you might have to check with 70MB make sure your not taking copy right infringement. might be royalty rights involved . 🤣🤣🤣 LOL .. matter might take "overnite".
  10. this shows how "one sided " news networks are!! watch news end up with negative thoughts of Russia and bordering countries. only thing shown is bombs/ war . pictures shown here make a person want to take road trip on beautiful vacation. Thanks again for the pictures.
  11. another summer holiday is here=Memorial Day. Flags are flying every where, stores are selling flags ; people are burying, ask many "why did you buy/ fly a flag?" most just reply = everyone else is. wonder how many youngster know or care why the flag is what it is. ole Bettsy Ross made the flag in the day differently. how many stripes ?? 13 = why 13; represented the original 13 colonies. stars are for states. most important = Memorial Day . how grateful the memory as seen passing so many cemeteries with the thousands of flags flying. a small way of "THANK YOU to the many who gave us the freedoms we have. the grills will be fired up and the food /drinks consumed ; starting the summer season. to all a safe and positive summer. and to those who served//serve Military AND law enforcement, then and now ++ A very special THANK YOU
  12. posts and pictures such as these remind us there is so much more of the world most don't realize. wonderful pictures. I can't make it out to see things such as the grand canyon ; thanks to pictures posted, I had a short "vacation" around other side of globe.
  13. you have my vote on those statements. less then 70; get ready for the up coming days/years. "where did my ambition and energy go "? I think the truck is mint by the pictures. little elbow grease as they say , throw in a fluff and buff. truck show ready.
  14. sure is nice when someone post a problem then has the thoughtfulness to post an update/ repair.
  15. now it's time to say good night to all our company!! M I C K E Y M O U S E . you young folk HAVE to shut the mechanics down ; came close to throwing trailer owner out of shop today == his son had sports practice. I said " don't do what I did and put work first" . he text me thanking me , his son was over joyed Dad showed up. point is SIR put the phone down go to sleep. 😄
  16. you are talking 2 different types of work. physical trailer work is a challenge ;; BUT behind the wheel of big rig== I couldn't do it any more the mental stress is 100 times worse then physical today with the ignorance on the road. for ever grateful cell phones were not common back then.
  17. can't contribute much here; too new for me . question I do have is (based on old school) why are both wires on small solenoid hot ?? 39 MT another question . were they not 45 ?MT's just so many letters/ numbers in today's iron. prices ??? unheard of . keep going Jo jo, it's late but learning for me has no time schedule
  18. a brake job which /should have been 4 hrs most was ===== long time. are those drums heavier then normal ?? tomorrow is tire dismount/ mount new ;;; 4 air bags on trailer/ 2 shocks on another trailer AND --- who the heck knows.. remember taxi at train station to pick up landlady. BOB don't get your hopes up on the golden year idea.
  19. if you find ANY joys of getting older send any extras my way !!LOL I haven't found any yet. busier schedule then even with a body that say screw U I ain't doin that.
  20. GO FOR IT !! don't wait . how lucky You are to have a mate wanting to see the USA before it get's screwed up. bought the GMC 2500 diesel to pull a full size travel home (not a camper ). only to have some one (you figure who) to say " I don't want to ) so much to see in this AMERICAN country .
  21. now even with a shot or two of jack Daniels after a LONG day at trailer brakes and repair ;AND 80 degree humid weather NEVER KNEW a fire wall difference. DANG you people are the best.
  22. DMM ==dumper/mixer/massive = no that's not right !! DMM had the raised cabs no front fender wells. set up for dual front steer / front wheel drive/ steel or fiberglass nose.
  23. going to work tues (tomorrow) I will be going by two supers which I took pictures of the steering boxes( for another post) .will stop to check the situation.
  24. can't guarantee location; did you look on the treadle (foot brake )valve? if you have a blue / yellow red knobs on the dash, the blue should be a "master control" valve. which is why brake lights work same with blue or yellow.
  25. correct on the DM designation dumper/ mixer . DM800 replaced the B81 series, DM600 had the two versions- steel/fiberglass nose. the U model (Universal model) was brought in as a B 61 series replacement. U's became a city delivery vehicle sporting lighter frame; shorter wheel bases ; enough to pull longer trailers. the off set cab has been with Mack going back to the LM ? series. as with everything there are exceptions to the rule. a prestress co in CT had DM611st's AND a number of DM611 T's. single axle DM's with 24 in rubber; double rails ;quads; heaviest rear with massive torque arms. osculating 5th wheels on 4in spacers.
