  3. I plan on driving it out with only one new 6V batt. and some fresh fuel- Well , its in pretty good condition based off it sitting for 24 years. I really wanted to start cleaning it and pulling it out. I didn't bring any tools or sandpaper to check the VIN on the frame , the door tags gone but still could be n the truck. The bunk area was nice, most of the head liner was coming off and hanging down but it still have a pillow and mattress in the back. It would look alot better pulled out and cleaned up a little. Then a full on restoration. Like it said its a tandem axle , missing a couple back tires. The motor is there . I do plan on going back again -
  4. So I now own a 1960 B61T and not a 63'. I got all my paperwork back from mack today and was blown away to see how much history is on it. My B was built in Allentown, PA in early 1960. (Door Tag says Plainfield , NJ. ) The chassis was then deliverd via the Mack Truck Chicago , IL factory branch to Armour & Co. of Williamsport, PA on July 30,1960. Number 5 of 6 trucks ordered. Number 6 was cancelled. Anyone have any info on the company she went to? I couldnt find anything. Also what would be a guess purchase price new? Im making a display board to go with the truck to shows. P.S. Ill have to send a bigger donation next time.
  5. I dated a girl in H.S. that had back problems with her D's and weighed 85 lbs.
  6. There was or still is a KW on egay for sale like that, but the Macks a little nicer. Maybe im partial...
  7. I agree , spoke rims, regular opening doors and the Mack engine would have made a cool little truck and for god sakes kill the chrome. To add , I have always loves the R steering wheel , put that back on. Mack seats, I could go on and on.
  8. You suck , what a great find FireMack. I agree, the B cab is way to small unless your into 4 1/2 feet tall filipina women.
  9. I was thinking racing truck. Duel air intake, dual stacks, I see it still has air brakes.. -

  11. I thought this might be a fun topic, I cleaned out the floor and under it in my B61 the other day and I found change-$ , a olllld road flare , and this item. Unsure what it is. In other trucks I have found some crazy stuff also. What stuff have you guys found in your trucks after bringing them home?
  12. Battery terminal goo wouldnt make them do that right? I have some red terminal protectant or whatever it is ,still on one or two terminals just a small bit though.
  13. Glad yours came, I sent mine off with a donation about 4 or 5 weeks ago. I cant wait for it-
  14. I went out today and started the truck about 4 times, first time it sounded like a dead batt. not a thunk but a small click , then I hit the button again and it fired right up real quick and nice. Ran for a few as I moved it around and let it run and then shut it down. Cranked it after that and it fired up , then tried again a few min later and it fired right up again. So thats the new update on the green machine.
  15. Guess im making a trip back up there. I called the owner yesterday. He said he is in his late 70's. Seems to be a very nice and honest guy. He told me the B model is all there (what he thinks) and he said he wont ever restore it. He wants me to look it over and make an offer. Im lost on what the cabs worth though even if the rest is junk. It did look pretty good while I was there but I didnt crawl all over it. It is missing things as you can see.
  16. I got the owners info, I will let you guys know how it goes. It is a tandem axle. -
  17. Jim , What time are you driving it over for lunch today? OH and NC cant be that far part in a B model. You do have a real nice truck -
  18. "Ford to shut down iconic car brand The automaker will stop production of the 72-year-old Mercury brand by the end of 2010." That was the headline on Yahoo's news home page yesterday along with this picture. -

I think it's the best thing since sliced bread. I've used one for several years with no grease at all just a squirt of liquid dish soap on it at every lube job.
