  1. If you are dealing with split rims I would chain them incase they decide to come apart, if you dont have split rims not an issue. I have had tractor tires that you could not break the bead with out a machine, and others that break down and come apart real easy. Dont know until you try.
  2. That sounds good, anything you can get would be helpful. If you get a chance and can snap a picture or two that would be good too.
  3. I will give you a ring if I decide to go that route, I need to determine what type of gear ratios I will end up with. Thanks for the offer, I will keep digging to see what I can learn.
  4. I will have to check, it does have 11.00-22's. The other week I ran across a B-73 with three sticks and it sparked my interest.
  5. This is mainly a play truck too, I dont plan on hauling much with it. (12-15 tons maybe) For the most part I would like to be able to go to shows with out being run over and still maintain my bottom end if I do decide to take a tractor along.
  6. Has anyone added another auxiliary box behind a quad box or equivalent transmission? I would like to keep all of my low gears and leave the rear ratio where it is. Currently its a quad box (18 speed) and a 7.00 rear. The only issue is that the top speed in the B61 is 50 MPH and I would like to boost it just a bit. (10-15 MPH) Any pictures, auxiliary information, etc. would be helpful. Looking to learn what I would have to acquire to do the job.
  7. Nice lowboy, I'd like to find one like that for a tandem.
  8. Any luch finding the rears number? I too looked once and found the axle housing number but not the rear. Anyone have a picture of this number, I may have just over looked it.
  9. Good morning, I need help getting a tandem road tractor hauled from Macon Georgia to York Pennsylvania after next Sunday the 27th of September. The truck is 20'-6" long, it runs and drives good.
  10. I too was playing around with gears and ratios. Here is all I could really get out of a TRQ-7220 quadbox. 15 5HS 0.70 14 4HS 0.84 13 4D 1.00 12 4LS 1.20 11 3HS 1.47 10 3D 1.76 9 3LS 2.10 8 2HS 2.61 7 2D 3.13 6 2LS 3.74 5 1HS 4.55 4 1D 5.45 3 1LS 6.52 2 2LL 7.92 1 1LL 13.80
  11. I have to agree with Superdog, I can’t believe that we cannot duplicate the originals. Maybe I am too particular but in the antique tractor world this would never fly. Personally, this would have to be a last resort. I just like certian things to look original.
  12. The truck looks good. Needs a few cosmetic things like emblems (which I have priced and seem to be expensive, if anyone knows a good place to buy let me know) and battery box lids. Interior looks really clean. If the engine and transmission are in good shape I would say its a fair price.
  13. Have you tried double clutching on the up shift, with out giving it an extra throttle? I know it works well on a quad box when shifting the main transmission.
  14. Boy sounds like you need a picture. If no one has one handy I'll see what I can do to tear mine apart and get one.
  15. You got it. Not enough Macks and no quads but I still wore it out. I'd love to see another one with more smoke and less bloat.
  16. Not to beat a dead horse, but I got a video for Christmas and one guy made a good point, up shifts are first and down shifts are second. That will tell you which stick to move first when you are splitting.
  17. Does anyone know the interior paint code for a B Model? I am about to the point where I need to get some, and can get a close match off of the glove box door but the sample is a bit off.
  18. From what I have gathered the 61t might weight around 12K, if it was a 61s around 15k. 12k would be plenty to haul behind a pick up truck and stay legal and safe. As far as the 61st with out a motor and transmission, I don’t think you will have any problem hauling it with either truck. Personally I would put the 61t on the 21000 lb trailer, get as much weight up in the bed as you are comfortable with and let the trailer bear the rest of the weight. Just my take on the situation.
  19. I remember you posting that, I saved it on my computer. I just can't quite picture where on the rear the rear axle number is. I can see from the picture the bogie number is near a drain plug.
  20. I have crawled all around and found a bunch of numbers but nothing that I can make any sense of. Where do i need to look to find the number that wil tell me what size rears I have? Anyone have a picture of where this is located? Is the number stamped? Thanks.
  21. Do any of you guys have an engine block heater on your diesels, specifically a Thermodyne? I would like to install one to ease the wear and tear in the winter months. If yo have one where did you put it, where did you get it, etc. Thanks.
  22. Thanks guys, this will save me some time and hopefully a lot of grease scraping.
  23. I was afraid of this, what year power stroke do you have? I guess they will all be susceptible to this, better keep a look out.
  24. I went threw the cab of a truck the other day looking for the serial number and could not find it on the door. I’m pretty sure it is missing but if I can pin point the location I will check for screw holes. Also, isn’t there one the frame some where? Is it on the drivers side or passengers and what is it near? How about the engine, transmission and rears, where might any identification for these be? I know very little about the truck and I am trying to do a little research. Thanks guys.
