Yeah... After getting smoked on my custom Harley by one of those fake country boy pick ups, I have learned to look ahead for them and not stop near them whenever possible..

I only used to do that with my diesel pickup at the stop lights to all those Fast and Furious wanna-be's with their little 4 cylinder jap cars with their 6 inch exhaust and no mufflers. LOl

Kids these days hahahaha gotta love it. Prolly runs around with those types that put soot out of the stack on a pickup truck under their eyes cause they think it's cool lol and that also do "burn outs" on gravel driveways. Or drop their beer cans down the stacks of the same truck and have the driver Rev er up to see how far the cans shoot up into the air......Roal that beautiful stupidity footage 🙄

Didn't you get a kick out of that Diesel Brothers show on Discovery Channel? They built their motors to roal so much coal, I don't even think they were making any power because the cylinders were so washed with unburnt fuel, LOL

Then it was a big shock to them they got nailed by the EPA and had to pay hundreds of thousands in fines. What did you expect? You put it right there on national tv in front of millions of Libtards!

Like I always say....if you are going to be stupid, or illegal.....be discreet about it.🤣

And yes, I had the puff limiter disabled on my 88 R Model.......but I knew how to drive it. So it had response but I didn't lay plumes of smoke. And that was pulling 140,000 pounds it's whole life.

i ordered L E D lights on my 2021 jeep mojave , kinda regret it now. never use high beams . have more oncoming traffic when on narrow roads flash their high beams at me. going to see about adjusting them down. have driven with just parking lights on ; ( they are bright enough. don't like driving during the night (or day time in CT ).

Sounds like me and my F150. Problem I have is I can't even turn them off with these stupid Canada mandated daytime running lights. So I blind people 24 hours a day.

Ok Bullheaded...  Im not in touch with the new stuff like I used to be.. 👍

Some of the aftermarket LED bulbs I have seen are like that too. They have fans on them.

    Some do and some don't?

Did y'all see the new Granite updates yet? Nobody has mentioned them yet here. But then again most of us hate new stuff anyway. I just saw it in an email I received.

New grill shape and heated LED headlights like the new Star's have.

I had to LQQK.....  Holy crap.. I couldnt beleive my eyes..  those prices are crazy..  How the hell does anyone make a living running a quarter million dollar truck that breaks down every few month due to expensive exhaust system issues..?  I am surely out of touch on this one..  jojo

Unless covid truck prices have risen that much in last two years, in 2020 I could get a fully loaded Star tri-axle dump  brand new for $227,000 in worthless canadian money.

Am I that out of touch now?? I have read articles about the new upcoming emissions regs and they did say it will be the end of the owner operator. Even International is predicting $300,000 prices for an average sleeper tractor.

I went to Danville with Zina from Gladys to her dr's appointment this morning. I saw all these trucks lined up at J & J Truck Sales, which is right next door to Atkinson Truck Sales. Between them they have about 8 million trucks for sale, I used to see dump trucks with their mud flaps all over the country. But this green dump one really caught my eye, I really like that color. That's a crappy picture too, but not too bad for a drive-by shot taken with a phone I guess.

The dr's office we were at was actually in a building that used to be part of the famous Dan River Mills. It was a 4 story building and on the first floor there was a room that was a small museum I guess, it had displays and pictures of the tobacco warehouses that used to be there, the textile mills...

and this display about the wreck of the old 97. Very interesting.

There's a tank museum in Danville too, in the old Disston Tool plant.  We haven't been there yet, but it's on our bucket list.

Hey Other Dog.....is that J&J dealer on drugs or are they just criminals? I looked at their web site to see that green Granite dump and it's USED and they want $252,500!!!!

  7. Maybe not an apples to apples comparison, but the mine I work at tried some electric trucks to replace some of the Toyota's for underground. At first they got rave reviews. After the first winter I noticed they were gone and they went back to diesel Toyota's and some other specialty brand.

I asked about them. They said they were great underground, but as soon as they came to surface in winter they weren't worth a crap. (they were kept in an unheated garage plugged in, but the cold still killed the batteries.)

And then they said even underground, after a few months of driving through water all the electrical issues started.

So be interesting to see how all these new electric vehicles do up here in minus 40 and winters that last 6 months and towns that are minimum 200 KM apart and no chargers in most of them.

I'd like a Mack with something like a CL hood and a Rawhide cab (from @ 2007)   Something like that with an X15 option. .....of course I'd like if they still made Superliners with E9s (or what it would be now, like those 732 HP Scania V8s)

I'm with you.....other than the Cummins. But I guess some people like them and we really don't have any choice nowadays.

I would have liked to see the CH axle forward before this latest styling change, with the old Rawhide interior and the hood lengthened just enough for a 15 or 16 litre engine and the cooling package required for it.

Volvo knows how but choose not to. They killed off their own large Volvo years ago but I don't remember the model name or number but it was a beast. They probably will destroy Mack rather than sell it to any company. Very sad way for the best truck of all time to die a slow death.

Wasn't it called the VT880 or something like that? What Volvo doesn't know is putting a longer hood and big engine on a very very ugly truck doesn't win over owner operators, LOL

  10. The CT13 was a Navistar Maxxforce painted yellow. The CT15 was a Cat C15 block with Navistar/MAN top end, injection and emissions. I had high hopes but they were plagued with issues.

The Cat truck here in North America was an International Paystar with a Cat designed interior and hood.

In the end as Cat announced discontinuation of the Cat truck in North America they finally offered them as a glider kit that could be set up for C12, C13, 3406E and C15.

I priced one out and almost bought one. But the glider was as much as a complete running new truck and I couldn't get by that cyclops dash with the single tach/speedo. The interior in my Paystar 5600i was far superior to me.

I loved my Cat powered Paystar Eagle.
