  1. So has anyone confirmed what engine it has? Was the MP10 thing a typo or not?
  2. Since there is a forum here for tractors, thought I'd post a couple pics of mine. This is what kills the depression of having to run new trucks. The 2013 Kubota is what I do all my mowing, snow blowing and bush trail building and maintenance with on my property. Great little tractor. It's done more work than it was ever designed to do, including hauling 330 tons of pit run gravel up these hills to build roads, one bucket at a time. And then last year I wanted to get into antique tractors and maybe do some pulling at the local fairs, so I bought this 1955 Allis Chalmers CA. I'm as of yet undecided if I should leave it in it's 64 year old working clothes, or give it a pretty restoration. I like old tractors done either way. It is nice to see them shiny and new, but there is something to be said for a tractor that has worked way longer than anything new will ever live. Just like with trucks....I love old technology. I KNOW that old tractor will start, run and work every day I need it.

  6. They say you can run it uninflated if you blow a bag or have an air problem.----I'd guess you will also get less axle tip and less driveline vibration when the suspension of the link goes flat? That and the fact that they say they have a rubber bump-stop inside their air bags. I'm not sure if they made a 72 inch spread, but all the ones I have seen around here are 60 inch. That's what I run. 72 gets you a bit more allowable but I'm always hourly so it don't matter. Plus 72 kills tires. Thanks for the info. I also know logging and off road, so if it holds up for that it can't be that bad.

  8. And another now gone old local fleet. The black R was a fuel hauler tanker company. I know the owner but forget the company name now. The blue ones were Steel City Truck Lines. They were a steel/lumber hauler and also had wood chip trailers.
  9. First off, I apologize for the poor picture quality. I couldn't scan them because the photo albums are so old they are pretty much glued together, LOL Anyway, this was the very first DMM tandem tandem mixer to arrive in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. A bunch of them were purchased by Downey Ready Mix (no longer in business since Lafarge ate up many smaller companies.) Before these trucks it was all DM600 and Paystar 5000 tandem's. And the old steel butterfly hood International R series before that.

  13. Got this from my good friend Hank in British Columbia, Canada. He knew the people that ran this truck back in the day on Vancouver Island. He knows and has a lot of history in BC mountain logging and the big fat trucks. It's too nice to not post here. He said it had a 60 ton trailer. We are thinking it is a B87?
  14. What kind of luck did you have with it MackTech? I've often thought about it when spec'ing but I always get mixed opinions. People seem to either love it or hate it. And despite Mack pushing it around here for a while I had a Mack rep at a trade show tell me to stay away from it. He said it puts too much stress on the frame and they had all kinds of cracking issues? On paper I love the idea of it though. Best of everything. With our mandated SPIF laws here our lift axles have to be self equalizing, so air suspension is the easiest and most reliable for this. But with the Air Link you still would have the full articulation of walking beams. And I like how it is fail safe. They say you can run it uninflated if you blow a bag or have an air problem.
  15. I just started following the forum again KS.....i missed the news.....why did Ford pull out of Brazil? Didn't they always have a huge presence there? I thought that was their biggest heavy truck market.

  17. The red one at the dealer? Yes those are 12/24 inch rubber. Some day I'll have to dig some of my other ones. I have pics of one of the first DMM tandem tandem mixers to be delivered in my area. That was quite the sight when they first came out.
  18. I personally like the looks of that though. Better than a Granite. Put a 20,000 front axle with 425 series wide base tires and that would be mint. Shows how far downhill truck design has gone today when I now consider a CH to have good old classic looks, LOL.
  19. Well, you can buy a dump box and put it on any truck you order. But every state and province is different, but that truck would be no good to me. Because here they base your allowable gross weight off all your axle ratings (along with tire size, wheel base, axle spreads, etc.) So without a 20,000 front axle and springs I wouldn't be allowed to haul much on that. I think the CH only came from factory with up to a 16,000 front end, but I could be wrong?
  20. That sounds awesome. Love that truck. It's carrying bigger loads than I am legal to carry on road with a big 4 axle truck! LOL.
  21. Nothing at this point. Enjoying life for a change right now. Trying to decide between a few different options. It's pretty tempting when you can change careers and make almost as much money with nothing but a lunch pail.
  22. That may be the case, but they also need to quit working for nothing driving the rates into the ground. Like I said, we have new trucks, over $200,000 each and we have to compete with guys that have old junk and have to hide from the MTO/DOT and work for $53/hour. But now with the emissions and SPIF laws it is finally forcing some of them to have to upgrade. And it looks good on them when they are going broke. That's why I quit hauling salt. Picture this scenario.....You have a $220,000 truck and a $160,000 three axle pony dump trailer. Hauling 42 tonnes of salt, 63,500 KG gross up and down 8 to 12% hills for 5 hours each way of the trip. In blinding snow storms. And for that you get to make just over $200 for the day after you pay the fuel. And we quit and yet guys keep flocking to them to do it. And you say $15,000 for a bull bar. Last time I priced a Mik Mak moose bumper (same thing basically) that are heavy duty and can withstand moose hits, it was $3500 to $5000 here depending on options. May have went up now with all the tariff's but still wouldn't be that high.
  23. You gotta be kidding me with those prices!!! You guys must have way better rates than we do here! It's hard enough to pay for a $220,000 truck here. We still got idiots that will work a 4 axle dump truck for $53.00/hour.
