  1. Hi, I am not up to date on B models but does #5 have the rear crossmember up side down? Grant
  2. Hi, hopefully its tyres, if not then does it have the same silly spring hangers at back of front springs as an R model? u know the ones with the rubber block? mine did the same thing till the front springs settled in, it kicked the hell out of the truck. I drove it in the wet an it must have helped the springs seat better in that block as its like a different truck now. Grant
  3. Hi, its getting there, just keep throwing money at it. Grant .
  4. sounds like you may have a buyer? I just popped a new fuel pump on the 866. no more fuel issues now by the looks??? and it just went over the pits and only failed for minor things, so it may be on the road in a few weeks. just gotta get it making more boost now, still only 11 pounds. all seems good, so will look closely at puff limiter once rego is done. Grant
  5. Hi, I will check the book I have tomorrow, it mentions what to use. mine is running the the protex anti freeze-anti boil at 50% i am using the type A coolant http://www.atap.com.au/documents/June2007.pdf Grant
  6. Hi, the spicer has 1/8 fittings with 1/4inch air line. you could all ways go up to that? Grant
  7. Hi, its probly the only rebuilt 864 in the world, I cant buy bits for an 866 so getting bits for an 864 would have been a challenge. great work. Grant
  8. Hi, great job looks good. getting parts for that engine must have been tricky. Grant
  9. Hi, its a good engine, can still read mack on the pistons so its clean. 864 pushrod probly the same, the E9 one was a easy to sort out and we put the 5th wheel on today, a 3n1/2 fixed plate will get it back on the dyno over the next few weeks, I do need some fuel pump bits. my guess is that E9 is in kalgoorlie? Grant
  10. Hi, yep cut E9 push rods down, will consider an E9 when this one throws a leg out, its in good shape inside, can still read Mack on the tops of the pistons. once it earns a dollar I will get an e9 an put it aside, till then the 866 is fine. Grant
  11. Hi, all is well, got pyro fitted, 910 degrees on dyno, found a restriction in the new fuel line, got that sorted, will get it back on the dyno and see.fuel pressure was in 30s, now its at 41 pound. got full throttle, engine not touched, had 2 heads off only for fixing core plugs. I couldnt even get new pushrods to replace the 2 bent ones so have not pulled engine down at all, I cut E9 pushrods down. next time it goes on dyno if its not up there then I will drop the air cleaners off at the turbo and see what it does. Grant
  12. Hi, yeh no probs, just dont put it in the back of a ute.
  13. Hi, now there alot better than the whopping 190hp I got out of the 866. good work. Grant
  14. Hi, whats wrong with yours? head gaskets are still available through Mack, there is over 100 in stock over there. push rods I couldnt get and had to cut down E9 push rods.( 2 of mine were bent.) Grant
  15. High, based on the 866, the V8 before the E9, and a 20speed spicer not the 12speed then about 2500 kilos Grant
  16. Hi, have emailed you. I rebuilt the transfer pump today. fuel pressure went up 10 lbs. found some sort of plastic in top of transfer pump, it has come out of the new hose. hopefully this will help its drain back?? also got an inline primer pump to. will try get it on the dyno in next couple of weeks. Grant
  17. Has anyone got a complete pump with transfer pump out there for sale? one of the leaks is on the pipe base that goes into pump and also there has been alot of water in the tranfer pump. it may be best to replace it. Grant
  18. will fix the few little issues it has, then take it back and pop the intake pipe off and run it that way. I dont know why I didnt think of it while i was there. all in all tho, the truck looks reasonable and it sounds nice. well off for the weekend, back monday. Grant
  19. Hi, they worked the opposite way. the air intake on these air cleaners is now the exhaust, they were horizontal mount on the stationary motor, now there vertical. but in saying that the air cleaner is 2feet long. Grant
  20. Hi, the turbo is certainly noisy, can here it spooling up, the exhaust is twin 5inch, no mufflers. i never thought till 3am that maybe the air cleaners are restricting it as there off a stationary engine. if it needed more boost and the turbo does not have a waist gate those air cleaners would have to be the only issue? I never thought to pop the pick up off the turbo intake. other than making no power it did well, all vital signs happy so not bad for a 30 year old engine that you cant buy parts for. he was worried about blowing it up to. My response was if it cant handle a dyno then it wont be able to pull a roadtrain will it. Grant
  21. Hi, can here the turbo spooling up, theres no waistgate on them or anything. are they the same turbo as the six? Grant
  22. Well it went on the dyno today, made a whopping 190hp!engine temp good, fuel pressure 33lbs, oil pressure 28lbs, max boost was only 12lbs, plenty of black smoke out the exhaust, so what could be the problem? did find a minor fuel leak, so got that to fix, but 190hp an 12lbs boost. Grant
  23. Hi, no only the ones in the pump where check valve is. it went on the dyno today, found fuel leaks under load, so will fix those and see what happens. Grant
  24. Hi everyone, hope all is well. I finally got to drive the Mack last week, the 20spd was fun but I found them all... eventually I went to go start it today because its going down for a dyno tomorrow and it would not start and the fuel has drained back again. it has new fuel lines, the valve in the right side of pump for return line was cleaned and has new o rings. what else could it be? thanks for your help. Grant
