  4. Your success at getting it running again is what makes coming this forum board all worthwhile. You learn by doing, but get help when you need it!
  5. Yes, it's always one thing at a time until you get them all straigthend out

Held at Shelby County Fairgrounds in Shelbyville, KY in conjunction with Salt River Antique Power Show.
  8. I agree with Superdog, if you sand down the rust and throw some primer on it, you will be amazed how much different it will look. That particular L has the later version flat fenders and yours are the earlier peaked fenders that look much better
  9. That system ( alternator with load coil is used for making 110 volts to operate electrical equipment. that mack should be positive ground.
  10. In Louisville KY scrap is always up in May, June, and July. The engine is a bare block with heads still on. I will take more pictures tomorrow to help show you what is there.
  11. Truck is still available, but with scrap prices going up, will soon be gone. There is a possibility that some parts can be saved rather than the whole truck. Also there might be a possibility of a group of us going to Macungie this year. If there is any interest in any or all, please contact me and tell me what you want! I hate to scrap good parts, but it needs to go! Owner need his garage space back.
  12. I am looking for some 7.50 X 24 tube type tires for use on an 20's or 30's fire truck. Would like to have 4 to replace some maypop tires on it now.
  13. I hope to be there this year. Not sure if i will be bringing a truck or with somebody else. would love to bring the "BB"
  14. Truck not sold yet, Not sure what the part number is, just know it is 5-speed with overdrive. They headlights are not very good, but you can get new ones from www.otbgear.com or www.unitedpacific.com that are copies of original.
  15. I think the truck might be sold this weekend to another friend of mine who needs some parts to fix another truck.
  16. Sorry i won't be there. I will be at Jackson, MI. I would like to find someone who needs some parts before my friend scraps it!
  17. Thanks, your pictures saved me a lot of time looking for a picture or diagram.
  18. The best way is to convert to a spinon filter and base. Take your canister oil filter off where it bolts to the block. You will see 2 threaded holes. one is a 1/8" and one is a 1/4". The 1/4" is intake and the 1/8" is return. Buy a filter base (Baldwin OB1308 or equilavent) and a filter for a cummins (Baldwin B7577). Mount the base, make your lines and attach. It will be cheaper in the long run
  19. Thanks for your help, I usually take a picture before I take something off but i forgot to do it this time. I still have many hard parts available on the salvage truck. ( no chrome or accesories)
  20. It is the type with external brake band. there are 2 springs on it and i want to be sure of where they go.
  21. Putting emergency brake back on a "L" model and can't remember how the springs go on the J bolt. If anybody could take a picture of theirs or explanation I would appreciate it!
  22. Loadstar, I looked at the the box of panel gauges and there were none that low. this pump is a huge pump with 6" suction hoses.
