  1. Super nice guy, I've got 2 transmissions and an engine from him! Also has helped me many times in the past.
  2. Well it looks like we will have the truck here soon. Carl Cook, who got it for me out of Syracuse will be bringing it on in! He is in Punxsutawney, PA. and has stored it for us He also has a red "B" :bmod1:
  3. I will be there (5 miles from the house) will be at ATHS booth right next to front registration booth
  4. David, the Baldwin numbers is OF1308 for the head and B7577 for the filter (B7575 short version). I am going to install it and use teflon lines. I will use the engine mounting holes for bracket Charlie Hatfield
  5. I know this has been discussed before, but what have other people done about sock-type oil filters for this engine? Has any one been successful in changing to a spin-on type filter assy? Also any rebuilding parts(rings, gaskets, bearings) available? Thanks for any help Charlie Hatfield
  6. I assume you are talking about grab handles on "L" Mack fire truck. I have only seen 11 1/2" or 13 1/2"
  7. Man, thats a tall order, seeing all those people. It'll take you a week to get straightened out and back to normal. When you get to Carl Cook's place, be sure you go in daytime. you can't find it at night!
  8. I am looking for an emergency brake inner drum and band for my '49 Ls 85. Hopefully some one has taken 1 off and I could sure use the whole assy.
  9. Harbor Freight sells a tool for that with some nuts for $13.95. They are aluminum and the largest is 1/4".
  10. I got the numbers off the engine, END 673-215-23. The number on the turbo is 631gc549bp7. It has an American Bosch injector pump. Since it does not have a "T" in the model number, a friend told me to check for piston coolers inside the engine. Also the transmission will bolt to the engine. I do not know if the "L" rear engine mounts can be moved and everyone tells me that there were never any mounts bolted to the diesel engine. Even new trucks are that way. I am not familiar with "B" that much so am not sure as to how to procede with this changeover
  11. I have bought a mack 237 turbo'd engine out of a "B" to put in my "L" fire truck in place of 707 gas engine. I need to know what problems I will have with any changeover situations. I have never done this before and would like to talk to someone who has. Someone told me to use the water pump out of the "L" to make the fan blade fit. Since it is a fire truck, I am also at a loss as to what kind of oil filter assy to use and also air cleaner. The diesel look like it has bolt-on rear mounts(gone) and on the gas, it is part of flywheel housing. Also the transmission (TR720) I am going to use looks like it needs an adaptor ring to fit the engine. Also I am curious as to where the vacuum is(for wipers). Once I start changing everything,I want to be able to finish it, with no problems or wrong parts.
  12. Have you tried Olson Gaskets 1-360-871-1207 http://www.olsonsgaskets.com or info@olsonsgaskets.com They usually have about anything for any engine.
