There's no question -
That is a very nice truck that they trust you with.
Nice to see that you are keeping it clean and
free of dents.
Unless, of course, that's not really your truck in the photo.
H'mmmm!!
-
Don't get too choked up.
Those were also the original colors
of my truck.
Still, I thought the thought meant something.
-
I can't tell you how glad I am about the dog.
I take my dogs more seriously than I do people.
Dogs have never let me down. Those people who
would turn in a dog for just being a dog really do not
deserve a place in our society.
Anyway - on a better note -
The mixer looks fantastic.
I'm going to paint my B-67 the same colors, just in honor of you.
The wood in the charcoal for the salmon -
Do you notice any difference in flavor when you use it?
And the bacon and water were great ideas.
You might have missed your true calling in life.
Found a little bbq rib joint on Rte. 104 east of Williamson, NY
that the locals tell me is second to none.
Gonna have to make that trip.
It's a typical rib place - a shack with some picnic tables
outside. Gotta get there this month or next - before the snow.
-
Just got into a really stinky, moldy hotel in the Galleria area of Houston.
At least my wireless service works.
Ah Well - two weeks of uninterrupted joy and happiness. Can't wait.
On a good note - I did get the B-61 I posted about a few days ago.
And I found a beautiful stainless Fruehauf tandem axle trailer about 32',
probably about late 40's or early 50's. I'm working hard on buying that.
It's the perfect trailer behind a single axle B Mack.
The B-61 is all around pretty solid, but the front fenders need attention.
They are certainly fixable, but new ones wouldn't hurt either. The truck
is really complete, and the chrome and trim is in great shape. Floors are solid,
and the cab mounts look good. We haven't tried to run it yet, but I don't
think it will have any major problems.
It isn't my intention to keep this, as it is basically the same use to me
as my B-67, which is pretty far into the restoration process. So, I will
be looking for reasonable offers on the truck. Or maybe a trade for something.
The real idea behind this purchase was to keep the old girl from the crusher.
Everybody have a good week!

You need to go get the dog - it's important.
Maybe you don't have to keep him - but you
can't let him die for doing nothing.
You owe him that much.

Tom,
Ask around about the 4" exhaust pipe.
I think it might be fairly easy to come by.
I just asked a friend of mine with an older R model
dump truck, when I noticed some new 4" pipe on his truck.
He told me it was no problem getting it made up for him.
Did you get your jaw healed up?

I never trust anything that the Chinese smoke in their hookahs.
And - you know what they say that Ginseng does to you. I'm waaay
too old to be acting like that!!!!!!!

Just take it easy and do what the doctor says.
If that doesn't sound like your mother - I don't
know what does.
But it's the right thing to do, if you want to get better.
Have a good week.

For $4,500. bucks, if the truck in the paper is any good at all,
it's a pretty good buy.
And single dumps are always useable and saleable.
Good thoughts to have - for better sleeping!!

Why do you think we moved to the back of the building?
The exact location is Pooler Park, Cty. Rd. 42, Fishers, NY 14453
-
So, what did the doctor say?

The RS-700 sounds, to me, like a story that needs to be told.
Thanks James,

That's a good looking pair of Freightliners James.
Do you still run produce?

Tom,
If it could work out - I'd be happy to pay for the tires.
The R model will need 22.5" tubeless rubber. It's got
11.00 x 20" on it now.
I prefer a light lug tire on the drives, and something pretty
decent on the steer axle.
Remember, it's only a single axle tractor.
I'm going to have to scrounge up wheels, too. But I think
I can get them pretty easily.
Thanks,

I had to go get a second TV - it was the only way!
So much for being king.
The pork loin sounds great. And it's too bad you're so
friggin old that your teeth are leaving, and you can't enjoy it.
Ship it up - I'll take of it for you.
Seriously though - don't wait around to get that mouth looked at.
Infection moves pretty fast and it can be a real problem if it really
settles in to the jaw.
Hope you feel better.

Sometimes we forget that we actually can do something about "the
way things are". We don't have to take it all the time.
And it's really easier than anybody thinks.
One of the founding premises of the Declaration of Independence
was that we have the right, and indeed, the duty to change any government
that becomes oppressive or overbearing.
It gets harder to do when the majority of people seemingly don't care.
But at least we can take some satisfaction in knowing that there are some of us
who are willing to do something to solve the overlying problem.
That Sloppy Joe part of it sounds pretty good too.

Volvo is in business to make money. Hard to argue with that.
If we, as a country, finally get angry enough about selling off our businesses
and our assets, maybe we will do something about it.
But until we can come to grips with the greedy unions, and the greedier government,
and the simple arrogant greed of many businessmen, we cannot and will not
make any progress toward regaining our place as a real world superpower.
Volvo is just doing what we allow them to do.

I hate being reminded that I used to have hair.
But sometimes it's fun to go back and look at where we've been.

Interesting stuff!
Did anyone check out the route and delivery site before
ordering the beams?
Looks like it could have been a concern if it were any tighter.
Had a Mail Pouch tobacco sign on a barn at the end of my road,
just like that one in W.Va. until just a few years ago when the barn
was repainted. I like those reminders of days gone by.

Nice to be busy!

Yeah - just be careful what you're smoking when you listen.
Ooohh - did I say that?

Joe - being young's OK.
You just don't have any music to call your own.
Now that I'm thinking about it -
it's really hard to believe that the music I know is all
35 to 45 years old.
That's a sobering thought.
But at least it is the best music ever written.
They can put that on my headstone!
Anyway - the moving continues from the old to the new shop.
Good for the soul - it lets me reorganize and sort out the junk.
Have a good week.

It's worse than I thought -
You mean to say your father was born in 1960?
Tom & I will talk - But we may have to disown you completely.
Although that might not be very smart.
Having a youngster around to do errands is pretty handy.
-
I need to add - the clutch is brand new in the KW.
I didn't realize that Jimmy had done that before we
took the radiator out of the truck.
For a big guy, he's pretty fast. Or else I'm not
very obversant!
Actually, the clutch was done at the Cummins shop
when they did the engine work. And no miles since then.
Incidentally, all of the paperwork for the engine and clutch
is here and goes with the truck.

Tom,
125,000 miles per year is plenty to keep you busy.
Especially on the less travelled highways that you normally
are on.
