  1. I believe that all R models in Australia had the largest radiator that Mack had available at the time, regardless of motor fitted

As to the steel bonnet, they were all that was sold pretty much in Australia in the early years as the general consensus was that fiberglass wouldn't last

It actually turned out the otherway, fiberglass was a lot longer lasting, easier to work on and looked better to boot

Damage was even lower from roos etc hitting them

  2. The sign I think is for the truck beside it Swishman

Theres some classy looking rides there

Im just stunned at how good some these trucks look

Were Brockways popular all over the U.S. or more just the East coast ?

Thanks for sharing the photos with us

I love the truck, if I had ordered it I would’ve specked some things differently. It’s a long ways to MS. but I feel like it will be too high priced for me. It was just at 7,500 last time I looked on proxi bid. Thanks again

    Dont by shy

It's a lot closer to you than it is to me, go hard, show no mercy

  4. So beem thinking about this and I gather what you are chasing is either 5 or 6 spoke spider hubs with a 8 stud bolt pattern for the axle and were it bolts to the hub ?

And all of this to fit on a 20 inch rim ?

    Am I even close

If so have you looked at a 58,000pound as end on spiders as they have 8 studs on the axle end and come in 20 inch

  5. Sit the engine up high enough you can sit the transmission on wood and pipe

    Unbolt roll away

Then roll back in when your done

It is lot simpler to type it here than it is to do

Have a tape measure hand to measure between the faces of the bell housing and the motor to make sure you keep it square

Kscarbel2 Where did you find the photo of the line of Burma Dodge trucks with the star on the door.  These have to be trucks the Commies captured from the Nationalist when the went to Taiwan.  Some were also in the military parade in Beijing in 1949 and 1950.  Seeing this line up of truck makes me think they were used by the Chinese Reds in the Korean War since there was not a lot of trucks in China at that time.

KS hasnt been on here for a while now

Thats a good pickup though and you probably are correct

How’s this... The old bloke said he put a brand new cab on it in the 90’s, I was curious so I asked him how much it was. He said about $3500 for a bare cab back then. How times have changed. My drives door cost me $2200.

    Yes Mack tinware isnt cheap

A fella I know with a series 1 Superliner he has had from new reckons it only seems like yesterday you could buy a brand new E9 for 20 grand

I remember Mack advertising them for that sort of money

Aluminium Mack step tanks 350 bucks, should of stocked up on those
