Your doing a great job Paul, on trailer and videos. I really enjoy watching .
Too bad we weren't neighbours , I would enjoy having a beer with you in our lawn chairs looking at your trailer .
I feel a lot of the people on here are not really that much different no matter what part of the world we are from
Old fashioned values and a good sense of humour
Who knows we might just get that beer one day

Not many convert to electric start in Australia but it has been done and is a pretty simple procedure I feel
Dunno about online manuals but there is usually plenty of manuals, reproduction or original on line for sale
Photos of the motor and the plate on the motor should be able to tell you all you need to know
The chassis number is used for id in Australia on the older Macks like this even though most Mack dealers ask for the vin number they will soon go "it doesn't work"
So the chassis number is stamped behind the leading drive wheel drivers side on Australia

What are you trying to find out ?
I know they sold them here (Australia), not in huge numbers but numbers big enough I still see the odd truck about
Paul

Shall I bring my esky and folding chair to your yard and sit and stare at from there ?
It would be a pretty special truck to own

The lack of activity around the Autocar name plate when it comes to an annual show has always puzzled me. After all, there is no shortage of trucks or people interested in the brand and they certainly were more prevalent than Brockway. I guess the magic formula hasn't been figured out yet.
I'm not really a show type if person, I do know that having the right mix of people running the show can be the biggest problem
I was involved for many years in the Caterpillar club in QLD Australia and it went great, numbers swelled but getting new people to get involved was a challenge
Old hands at running the show can be a challenge as some dont want it run any other way
Dunno what the right mix is but when it's right it just runs along so smoothly

Very interesting video. That's quite a journey to get a trailer. Your very self sufficient I'm impressed. What's the plan when you get it home?
Shady tree, deck chair, esky and sit and stare
I dont have any real plans, it is totally stuffed so I really need to fix the corrosion problems first
New sides, new floors, new gates, it's a long list
But I have something to work with now

That was fantastic stuff, thanks for sharing

Harry there was a time I thought it was quite common for all R models to have that hole in the bonnet, turns out I was wrong lol
The bonnet and cab has a few extra cut outs like that that no one ever see's
When the bug deflector was on the bonnet you couldn't see that hole from inside or outside
Once Covid does what ever the fudge it's gunna do you should come and check out this wide brown land Bob

I cant see anyone buying it for export to Australia or any other part of the world for that money
I could be wrong and unfold my deck chair and be filling my esky to get ready to sit and stare but highly unlikely

Sounds like a plan, I'm guessing its gotta be close to fitting, same shape cab and all
Take some measurements and see what happens I guess

I believe that all R models in Australia had the largest radiator that Mack had available at the time, regardless of motor fitted
As to the steel bonnet, they were all that was sold pretty much in Australia in the early years as the general consensus was that fiberglass wouldn't last
It actually turned out the otherway, fiberglass was a lot longer lasting, easier to work on and looked better to boot
Damage was even lower from roos etc hitting them

I reckon your onto it Swishman
Either that or the joey box is called something different in Brockways

The sign I think is for the truck beside it Swishman
Theres some classy looking rides there
Im just stunned at how good some these trucks look
Were Brockways popular all over the U.S. or more just the East coast ?
Thanks for sharing the photos with us

Just one thing JoJo, we dont call batteries by type this or that in Australia
So apart from 925 amps, how big in physical size is the batteries so Aussiedog can make select the appropriate battery
