  5. I actually am one of the rare birds that believe in mandatory vehicle safety inspections (within reason.) When I travel through states that do not have safety inspections, I cringe at some of the shit boxes that I see on the roads.
  6. He did get handed this but as you can see, it needs work which he will gladly take on!!!! And besides, it was a deal I couldn't pass up.
  7. 2000 Dakota Sport 3.9L V6 5-Speed w/Manual 4WD Runs great but as you can see the body is a bit of a train wreck......needs new rocker panels too.
  8. This kid is a huge grease monkey. He has been fixing and selling lawn mowers for a while now, but it's time to graduate onto bigger stuff- he will be 15 in May and it's time he started thinking about his 16th bday and that little card that goes in your wallet that every 16 year old kid thinks of.......Plus I wanted him to have a manual transmission 'cause he sure as hell ain't learning on my 67 year old truck!!! The package I handed him is the Haynes/Chilton Manual for his newest "Mechanical Conquer" I think I downloaded this video right....... Messenger_creation_E8CE33BB-6FEC-426C-823E-5354F9AABD5E.mp4
  9. I had just started my 24 hour shift at the Aberdeen Proving Ground (Md) Fire Department. We got the trucks, our SCBA and the equipment checked out and were in the kitchen getting breakfast when one of the Paramedics came running into the kitchen yelling "Turn on the news!" I grabbed the remote and turned on one of the Baltimore stations and we all just stood there in complete shock. Watched the second plane hit live as it happened. About 10 minutes after that we were notified that the base was locked down. Fire Chief told us to check, double check and triple check everything- make sure all air bottles were topped off, all fuel tanks were full to the necks, etc. I lost 6 good friends that day. All guys on the job FDNY. I have lost several good FDNY friends since as well, all due to various cancers contracted from working at "The Pile." Spoke to my Dad that morning (who worked at Jevic headquarters in Delanco, NJ) and they sent out a Qualcomm message to any local trucks in NYC, Long Island and Yonkers to head to one of the rest areas on the NJ Tpk and await instructions. They were then told to return to Delanco. Any regional or OTR trucks heading that way were told to head to Delanco instead.
  10. That's good, if they are doing a cat scan, the dogs probably shouldn't be at the hospital.
  11. That parts guy doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground
  12. But you forgot to stop in Metropolitan Hellertown to get your oxygen sensor and air fresherners.
  13. I never heard this one before, this is excellent. I have heard the saying "We do not deserve our dogs." Paul, I am so sorry for your loss. I am typing this as Fozzy is laying his head across my feet under the table. Seek comfort in knowing you did right by him all these years up to the end.
  14. A Century-Series American Lafrance, formerly owned by the Dewey Fire Company of Hellertown, Pa. to be exact.
  15. Well, since you couldn't be bothered to include any girls in cars pictures, here is a girls standing next to the FWD picture.
  16. There was a news story recently making the rounds in various fire service pages- a Firefighter was packing a line up in a hosebed and wasn't paying attention and stood up and.....WHANG! He was pretty seriously hurt and even got a helicopter ride to the nearest trauma shop. I think it was in Georgia somewhere?
  17. He's probably the only BMT Guy that lives closer to Macungie than me......lol
  18. Those Chris-Crafts have nice Transoms. And I dont think they are 1947's. I am pretty sure they are about 2004's

  20. Larry posts regularly on Facebook. I will tell him his fan club misses him.
