  1. Heck, if it's too much of a burden, I know a certain Redneck in Southern Illinois that would be more than willing to give it a new home... BTW, is it a 6x6? If it is, I'm WAY jealous.
  2. I guess since he don't drive, he's got plenty of time to be a postwhore on the interweb...
  3. You make it sound as though driving that truck was a chore...that you would have preferred ANY other truck. Personally, I think that truck looks bad-ass...not sure what the other trucks are, but that'd be my first choice over any petercar
  4. If you need to shovel to get in or out, it's time to get a bigger truck. Besides, it's against my religion to shovel snow.
  5. Who knows...the Supreme Court may strike down Chicago's handgun ban, and all the people who formerly couldn't legally have 'em will suddenly be legal & want to have it with 'em legally outside of their homes too....and start pushing their state legislators to pass one of the bills currently in the Rules committee that would make Illinois a "shall issue" state a boy can dream, can't he?
  6. Rocky boots did that to me...switched suppliers. I had a pair of boots that fit PERFECTLY...wore 'em out and needed another pair, so I bought another pair of the exact same boot in the exact same size as what I had ('cept it had steel toes this time...the place I loaded at all of the time was starting to require 'em)...not even close to a good fit. I bought another pair of the non-steel toe version...same as I had before....but they fit as horribly as the steel toe ones.
  7. well then in THAT case, I got 4 trucks.
  8. I'd still work....I'd go stir crazy if I didn't. May not work as hard, or as often, or have anyone ELSE's name on the truck...but I'd still be doing something with it. Besides, after I spent it all, I'd have to work to pay my living expenses...although they'd be smaller 'cuz I'd have no loans for anything. It's amazing how far a dollar can be stretched when ya don't owe it to 8 different people 6 months before ya earn it.
  9. Like I said...if I won the lottery tonight, I could have every dime of it spent by this time tomorrow
  10. Down at the bottom of the home page... How is it that Double L is a "Pedigreed Bulldog" when he ain't even got a truck, and me & Gambi both got Mack trucks with the gold dog on the hood & we's just plain old bulldogs? Somethin' just don't seem right...
  11. I got 4.17 gears in mine...and I wouldn't go any higher (numerically lower). If I changed 'em, I'd go to at LEAST a 4.35 gear. Mine are also 38K, and I'd swap 'em for 46K's in a heartbeat if the new axles had full lockers instead of just the power divider. They usually load me heavy in the nose, anyway...not too uncommon to be 36K or better on the drives. I don't like it, but what can ya do? Then again, I'd go to at least an 18K or 20K steer axle, too...that way I could push the 5th wheel up a couple holes to get some weight OFF the drives...and still be legal. I only have a 12.8 axle up front right now....and floaters would be nice in the soft stuff so I don't sink in...and CTI would be nice, too, especially with in-dash controls so I could air up & down depending on load & pavement (or lack thereof)... Yup. Even if I won the lottery tonight, I could prolly have every dime of it spent by this time tomorrow.
  12. Bill Brady is good on the gun issue...if you want CCW to come to Illinois, he'll be pushing for it harder than any other candidate in the race....but I heard a Dan Proft where he wants to tie the salary of elected officials to the median household income (something I've been advocating for a while). That's the problem with politics these days. One party you get candidates where each one has a different thing you like...but the total package isn't too attractive. The other party is just crap with NO redeeming qualities. There's only been 1 candidate I've ever donated & campaigned for...ran against Costello a few years back for the US House. Reading her campaign website & where she stood on the issues, I could have written the whole damn thing myself. She did pretty well, but not well enough to win. One thing that IS pissing me off, though is Andy Martin and his ads for the senate primary. First, accusing Mark Kirk of being a homosexual...and then accusing him of being a defacto pedophile for not bringing light to Mark Foley's indecent actions with his congressional pages...all this done while Mark Kirk was on active duty over in the middle east. Personally, I don't care what the guy does in the privacy of his own house. I just want to know what policies he is going to be pushing for or against if he's elected. I want to know whether or not he's going to "bring home the bacon" or if he's going to be a responsible steward of the people's money. I want to know if he views the Constitution as a LIMIT of government's powers, or if he thinks it's a "living document" that can be twisted to whatever suits his wants.
  13. Heck, ya wouldn't even hafta take a new pic...looks like your current rig
  14. Thems my thoughts, too...but he was cryin' about how he wanted big horsepower and Mack just don't offer it.
  15. Prolly a little heavy for what I do, and it'd prolly get me into trouble if I DID have something like that.... wahh waaaahhh wahh waaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh SLAM! Outta my way, chump! I guess everything IS bigger in Texas
  16. ...it's even in your color http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=2209634 DAYCAB, CUMMINS ISX-500HP, JAKE, CRUISE, MACK T318L 18SP TRANS, ROCKWELL REARS 4.30 RATIO, DOUBLE FRAME, 18,000# FRONT AXLE 46,000# MACK AIR RIDE REAR, 200"WB, DUAL EXH., DUAL 100 GAL FUEL TANKS, 60" AIR SLIDE 5TH WHEEL, 1/2 FENDERS, 6 ALUM WHEELS, 11R22.5 TIRES 90% VIRGIN RUBBER, WET-LINE SET-UP, SET-UP FOR PINDLE HITCH ON REAR, 256,996 MILES, YELLOW IN COLOR; 6x4 thar's yer Mack w/ a little power...
  17. I could go for the 46K rears and full lockers, but 4:11's are kinda tall in my opinion. I've got 38K rears with 4.17's and just a power divider in mine and would change to at LEAST 4.35 if/when I ever "upgrade" to full locking 46K's The fact that it ain't a gold dog on the hood, though, means I ain't interested in THAT truck, though. If I'm gonna drive a Mack, I want to drive a If I want to drive a truck with vendor transmission & rears, I'll get an old Ford LTL9000 or a new International Paystar 5900SFA... Either way, it'd also have to be a daycab painted white, of course....
  18. Almost as bad as the company giving you a "backhaul" to get you up to where there's a halfway decent load coming back, but the load freezes in your bed and you spend almost 3 hours digging out...long enough that you don't have time to get that other load and you have to bounce home empty. I THINK I broke even that day...even if I did work for free I don't like "backhauls". EVERY load is a load, and ought to PAY like a load....
  19. Something like that would be great, because you'd be on down the road LOOOOOONG before they realized there was a problem, and they'd be left scratching their heads trying to figure out when/where/how it happened. If your truck causes a CMS incident at the moment the scanner is plugged in, you're busted. Half the fun of causing trouble is reading about it in the paper knowing they have no clue who they are looking for.
  20. I'd say I'm hard on boots. How hard? This was one day after I bought these: They are Carhart brand...still holding up OK, although the sole seems a little hard in the really cold weather. I have a HELL of a time finding boots that fit PROPERLY because I have an uncommon dimension foot. Best pair of boots I've EVER owned, I special ordered. Measured the length, width, around the ball of the foot, around the arch, around the heel, and around the calf every 2" for as high as I wanted the boot to go. Wore 'em every day for over 3 years before the heel started coming off. I put some screws through the rubber into the wood heel block and that got another 6 months out of them. Yeah, they were pricey @ $350 (and 4 months to get)....but for the last 6 years I've been telling myself I NEED to send 'em back because for less than $80 they'll rebuild them...new soles, repair any stitching, repair any eyelets, etc...basically new boots with the old leather (which is fine because the leather is still good)...and I'll have my favorite boots back. I've also had good luck with Redwings...
  21. Either that or have a program that would load a virus onto his scanner so that it would start out at 105 km/h for your truck, and every time he scanned another truck it would read out one less km/h...104....103...102...101...that it wouldn't ACTUALLY be reading the truck ECM's, but would instead just display the decreasing value.... How many trucks ya think they'd scan before they caught on to the "problem"?
  22. Hell, if THAT'S all it would take, I think I could come up with a Palin sticker for ya...
  23. ...so even if you DIDN'T maliciously alter the electrical connection, if a wire shakes loose and they can't scan the ECM you get a ticket? You buy a truck not knowing that the previous owner disconnected a wire and you get a ticket? All the more reason to stay out of those provinces. No freight is going to pay me enough to voluntarily agree to impede the flow of traffic down here. Maybe disconnect the wiring altogether and locate another plug-in behind the dash for dealer usage....and wire up the one they'll plug into at a voltage & amperage that will literally fry their scanner....like run 12 gauge wire straight from the battery to the plug, so when they plug in their scanner, it'll let out all of it's smoke If yer gonna get in trouble, ya may as well do something to deserve it.
