  1. The collision took place as AA5342 was on its final approach to Reagan National shortly before 9pm ET. That night, a single air traffic controller was left to handle both helicopter traffic and manage planes - which should have been a divided duty - according to The New York Times. Those tasks are usually handled between two people from 10am until 9:30pm. After 9:30pm the duties are typically combined and left to one person as the airport sees less traffic later in the night. A supervisor decided to combine those duties before the scheduled cutoff time however, and allowed one air traffic controller to leave work early. The FAA says that staffing configuration 'was not normal for the time of day and volume of traffic'. It remains unclear why the supervisor allowed the worker to clock off early on Wednesday night, just before the midair collision. The Army helicopter deviated from its approved flight path. It was not on its approved route and flying higher than it should have been. Approval had been given for the helicopter to fly no higher than 200 feet along the east side of the Potomac River, where it would have avoided the CRJ700. The pilot of the helicopter confirmed sight of the American Airlines flight and was told to stick to their predetermined route and go behind the plane. But the pilot did not stick to the path. He was a half-mile off course as well as being at an altitude above 300 feet. A senior Army official told The Times that the pilot of the Black Hawk had flown the route before and was well aware of the tight altitude restrictions and routes. Five current and former controllers said the lone controller in the tower should have been more proactive in directing the two away from each other. One day earlier, also at Reagan National, Republic Airways Flight 4514 was forced to abort landing and do a fly-around when a helicopter approached its flight path.
  2. Bloomberg / January 29, 2025 President Trump has boasted about bringing a more transactional approach to his relationship with world leaders. Just over a week into his second term, many have shown they’re eager to make the deals he treasures. Saudi Arabia offered to invest more than $600 billion in the next four years while European governments will look to purchase more US-produced liquefied natural gas. Vietnam’s leader suggested his country might buy more Boeing planes. And India raised the possibility of importing more oil. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-01-30/trump-s-transanctional-foreign-policy-leads-to-flurry-of-pledges

  4. And here I thought they simply had no desire to acclimate/adopt the American way of life.

  6. President Trump has a superb plan to exile American repeat offenders and violent criminals. Violent people who did not necessarily come here illegally, but have been arrested 30 times, 35 times. 41, 42 times. They have been arrested for crimes such as murder and other heinous charges such as pushing people into subways or striking people with baseball bats, or punching old ladies in the face, knocking them unconscious and stealing their purse. I don’t want these violent repeat offenders in our country any more than I want illegal aliens from other countries who misbehave. They’re repeat offenders by many numbers. I want them out of our country. I will be seeking permission to do so. We’re going to get approval to get them the hell out of our country, along with others. Let them be brought to a foreign land and maintained by others for a very small fee, as opposed to being maintained in our jails for massive amounts of money, including the private prison companies that charge us a fortune. Let them be removed from our country and forced to live elsewhere for a while. Let’s see how they like it. President Trump
  7. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced Wednesday that the Trump administration has revoked a Biden decision that would have protected 600,000 people from Venezuela from deportation. Noem signed a notice reversing a move by her predecessor, Alejandro Mayorkas, in the last days of the Biden administration to extend Temporary Protected Status, effective immediately. Before he left town, Mayorkas signed an order that said for 18 months they were going to extend this protection to people that are on Temporary Protected Status, which meant that they were going to be able to stay here and violate our laws for another 18 months. We stopped that. Kristi Noem
  8. All the headlines say the jet collided with the helicopter, when the video from Kennedy Center appears to shows otherwise. The WH chimed in early on which I found odd. It was as if the WH was already knowing of a developing situation before the actual collision happened. And the convenient maps............ Perfect weather. Clear night. The CRJ700's upper and lower red strobe lights were visible from a great distance. And the CRJ was asked to land on 33 at the last minute.

  10. In the video, it appears that the alleged Army Sikorsky UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter rammed into the back of the American Airlines aircraft that was on final approach into Reagan National.(AA 5342 from Wichita, a PSA-operated CRJ700). https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14340645/Plane-crashes-Reagan-National-Airport-Washington.html https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14341493/How-disaster-Potomac-unfolded-Washington-American-Airlines-helicopter-crash.html
  11. This Tuesday evening, the Trump administration began sending emails to two million federal workers offering buyouts, a chance to voluntarily vacate their positions, if they refuse to return to the office. Employees who accept the terms were being offered the chance to go on administrative leave through September 30th at full pay, a rather generous offer they should accept. .
  12. They criminally enter another country.............and then whine to the media that they were treated poorly in the course of being thrown out. They still have no remorse for their illegal action. Or perhaps they're simply clueless. Unreal. And Colombian President Petro wants these lawbreakers to be treated with "dignity and respect." . https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14335167/Shaken-migrants-deported-Trump-issue-warning.html
  13. And the sad thing is it might all be true. Per House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Brian Mast (R-Fla.): $15 million worth of taxpayer funds to buy contraceptives like condoms for the Taliban. $47,000 for a transgender opera in Colombia. $32,000 of transgender comic books for Peru. $50 million worth of condoms for Gaza (really ???) Funding drag shows to Ecuador at $20,000 a clip. Atheism to Nepal at half a million dollars for a grant https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14334647/donald-trump-condoms-gaza-trans-operas-colombia-foreign-spending.html
  14. So Caroline Kennedy waits until the day before her cousin's confirmation hearing to trash him. And all these months, she was not motivated to say a word.
  15. She didn't do a good job of trying to sell it. It was like Kirby speaking.........insulting your intelligence.
  16. I don't believe it. At the very least, I can say those craft demonstrated flying characteristics that no amateur or commercial drone is capable of. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-14334821/donald-Trump-New-Jersey-drones-REALLY-research.html Remember, the FBI alleged it did not know who was behind the flying objects. The military alleged it was not responsible. .

  18. It is still valid. It's absolutely a nervy play, but if you knew all that China and Russia were doing up there, then you would make an attempt for it as well.
  19. Senate hearing: President Trump's plan for the Panama Canal. . . Watch from 1:30
  20. This is complicated. And remember, the UK has the right of first refusal to buying Greenland (Mark Felton explains below). I know we used it extensively in the war as an aircraft stopover. And all the major powers have been busy busy staking territory claims throughout the Arctic. Strategically, having Alaska AND Greenland would give our military a very strategic stance. Canada is great, but they can't afford to militarily enforce their vast, vast northern lands. The easiest way would be for the locals to vote for US ownership. Our selling point would be we'll improve your quality of life, unlike the current status quo. .
  21. On Monday, President Trump suspended 57 government officials at the U.S. Agency for International Development for trying to circumvent his executive order on freezing all foreign aid. We have identified several actions within USAID that appear to be designed to circumvent the President's Executive orders and the mandate from the American people. As a result, we have placed a number of USAID employees on administrative leave with full pay and benefits until further notice. USAID acting administrator Jason Gray President Trump must find a way to gut the union, the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) that represents most federal government employees (aside from postal). The AFGE is a root cause of government inefficiency.
  22. Noem speaks our language. Criminal alien with kidnapping, assault and burglary charges is now in custody - thanks to ICE. Dirtbags like this will continue to be removed from our streets. 23. A leaked memo states that President Trump has temporarily paused all federal grant, loan and other financial assistance programs. In the interim, to the extent permissible under applicable law, federal agencies must temporarily pause all activities related to obligation or disbursement of all federal financial assistance. The pause applies to all other relevant agency activities that may be impacted by the executive orders, including, but not limited to, financial assistance for foreign aid, non-governmental organizations, DEI, woke gender ideology, and the green new deal. Acting director of the Office of Management and Budget Matthew Vaeth The White House budget office has ordered federal agencies to temporarily pause all activities related to obligation or disbursement of all Federal financial assistance, but does not affect Social Security, Medicare benefits nor assistance provided directly to individuals. The suspension goes into effect today at 5pm EST. Agencies have until February 10 to submit detailed information on any programs, projects or activities subject to the pause. The suspension provides the administration with time to review agency programs and determine the best uses of funding for those programs consistent with the law and Trump's priorities. Agencies must identify legally mandated actions or deadlines for assistance programs before completing the analysis. The problem is, this should not have been leaked. This time around, there can't be leaks. The individual(s) who leaked the memo must be made an example of.
