  1. There is still good stuff out there just not on the radio usually.
  2. Your danm right CC and all those others are better than new "country singers" and bands. I'm 28 but managed to see Waylon a few times, and many others. My old man used to bring me to shows all the time. Good memories, and good times. Andy
  3. I Dont think Waylon would have been content in someone else band forever. He seemed to do his own thing. Andy
  4. I'd say that PIC of Waylon was taken during his drug days. I guess they hadnt taken there toll by then. Big fan of the booger sugar, and yes he had diabetes which led to the amputation of one of his legs. All great musicians regardless of their personal habits. Andy
  5. There is a guy on the northshore in Mass that drives a Pete painted up the same way and with "general Pete" written on the hood. He's usually pulling a tri-axle walking floor chip trailer. Andy
  6. NAPA sells magnetic block heaters, maybe throw one of them on the Trans and hope for the best. I know that's not an answer at all, but it might help.
  7. I read my post and want to clarify, I didn't want to imply that it was easy to be a skilled operator. I know it's not, and I by no means consider myself that. I think the testing is if anything too easy. My father has been a truck driver for 40 years, so I have a tremendous respect for guys that make it look easy. Andy
  8. I don't have an answer for you guys, but coming from someone who isn't a professional truck driver, getting a license isn't really a big deal. Having a vehicle to do it in is the hard part, but if you want the licence you must have that part covered. I got my A and I had virtually never driven a truck, I don't like the idea of if being a grey area. Some jackass cop feels like impounding your truck cause he's in a bad mood, no thanks... Andy
  9. Couple old Macks and a Euclid site trucks at the Miles River yard.
  10. What do you guys think this truck will sell for? It seems like a decent deal where it's at price wise now. Any recommendations on getting this thing shipped to Massachusetts?
  11. Those stacks look odd.... It looks like a fifth wheel off of a spotter.
  12. 617 328-7700 is the company number and the only one I got, I can go by there on Friday if you want more pics. If at all possible I suggest stopping in your self, this guy has been around these trucks all his life and he's got the stories to go with them. He also has the means to help loading these trucks, he was really a nice guy once you got him talking. (of course i can remember his name either) There at 105 myrtle st in quincy mass. Andy
  13. The rockers need replacing I'd say, the floor didn't look too bad from the bottom but the carpeting was pretty well saturate with mouse and rat Piss and shit. I guess the front cab corners you might say were bad in terms of the panels right in front of the doors were soft and rotted through in some places. I will be in the area again Friday if anyone wants more info I will try to get it, I think she's gonna be pretty firm on the price. The Acar is powered by a 2 something Cummins I think, and a 13 speed, I didn't get a price. The frame under that truck looked pretty beat. Andy
  14. The guy was throwing alot of info at me, I think he wanted 20k for the tractor, 6k for the dump, and he had a cab and chassis just like the dump, but I think it was a 49' he wanted 4k for. He kept saying that it wasn't a fire sale so I assume those prices are a bit high, but I don't know. Btw his grandfather bought all these trucks new, so one owner technically, and it was clear he doesn't really want to sell the tractor. Andy
  15. This tractor started life as a single screw chain drive 51', it was converted to twin screw with a 250 Cummins and a 5+3. Andy
  16. Pics are on my phone I can text them, but I don't know how to upload them to the forum. I got one of the Acar, all of the pics are pretty bad, but give you an idea of there condition. Send a text to (978) 808-9496 and tell me what you want pics of, Mack, sterlings, or a-. Andy
  17. I should add that it has camelback suspension, an RTO-12513, 571,000 miles, and the frame was relatively clean. Its too much of a project for me at this point, I was hoping that the paint your looking at was the original, its not and a lot of filler was packed in everywhere. It is also a bit misleading to say it has been in a barn for 27 years, cause the roof of the barn has been gone since the building burned in the early 80's. Andy
  18. I just got back from looking at it, the cab is shot and the interior is rough. I snapped a couple of pics if anyone wants, she (the seller) has a title. Her father bought it in 84 and was gonna hang a plow on it and put it on the state, but it never happened. Her uncle owns the building and has equipment and can help you drag it onto a lowboy (both him and the seller were real nice people). He has 3 sterlings for sale as well and a 62 auto car.
  19. It would be a hobby truck for me, just called on it, I'm gonna try to go look at it soon. Andy
  20. Hey guys, I'm new to your forum but very interested in this truck. I have a question about the motor that is in it, are the older v8s very difficult to get parts for? If this motor needs a rebuild is it smarter to repower it? I would rather it be stock, just want to know what I'd be up against. If someone here already purchased it I could possibly help by picking it up and or storing it. This thing is really cool to me, I don't want it to slip into the wrong hands! Thanks, Andy
  21. I'd like to see more pics, I'm not interested in the trailer. Thanks Andy
