Chicago R models
PeterMack replied to Lmackattack's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Not sure what the price was. Took some to Milwaukee in the morning then General in the afternoon. I think I got at least twenty flat tires in there. I know I only have 18, but I figure two more had got flattened twice just for good measure. That yard leaves little to be desired. -

Went to General Iron in Chicago today. I haven't been there in seven or eight years. Still a crap hole. But while I was there I saw a Nickelson R-model and a Robinette Demo CH. -

I borrowed these pics from the ATHS Facebook page. The guy that took them said this LT runs around Arthur IL which is straight south of Chicago. Down in Amish country. I guess it is used for a local small demo company. Would be neat to see running down the road. -

A friend passed these to me a year ago, just forgot to post them. These two trucks were sitting over the line in Wis. The exhaust system on the MR doesn't look complicated at all :-( I say chop it and straight pipe it! Probably save a 1000 pounds. -

They don't seem to skip a beat around here! -
Only 1 more year left with that ass hole. I still can't believe he got in twice. There is light at the end of the tunnel.....a very dim light.

No Mack's today, just thought I'd take a little time to showcase the awesome dump truck drivers we have in northern IL. The burnt one I saw on 20 in Hanover Park a couple months ago, the one on its side my Dad saw last week on 47 on the north side of Huntley, and the yellow one happened this week out on 90. The burnt one may not have been the drivers fault, maybe, but the other two look to be driver failure. -

I saw this on Facebook the other day. I don't have any details to go with it.....but I like it. I think I need one for the toy collection.

These pics were passed along to me from a friend. Lenzini's freshly redone R-model. Very sharp looking truck, but from the sounds of it we will not see it running around here. It will be going to his new home out of state. Sounds like it will be used for a little hobby trucking/excavating. Damn good looking truck! -
Rat Rods
PeterMack replied to mackdaddy's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
The very first Rat Rod is used in a Five Finger Death Punch video along with some other cool rat rods. I suppose there are not to many FFDP fans on this forum so just go to 1.24 to see the Mack. Later on in the video there looks to be an another Mack with a flatbed in the background of the card game. It's pretty hard rock, so turn volume down if you do not like. -

Borrowed this picture from Ernie's Facebook page. They posted a ton of great old pictures there. There was no info with this one. I'm gonna say mid to late 80's. Looks like somebody flopped over a Value Liner. -

Just a few pictures from my travels today. I took a couple pictures of a towing companies yard that is right at Wolf Rd & 58 in Des Plaines. I've noticed there is a black R-model tow truck and behind it a Ford 9000 with a bunk on it. I've seen them sitting back there for years. Also saw a white R-model sitting on 31 in Mchenry, the whole passenger side fender is blown off behind the headlight. Looks like the Super Mix conveyor didn't want concrete all over his windshield, had it tarped off pretty good! -

Saw this the other day. I think this might be an old Lima Exc truck. Think is says Eddies Landscaping on the door now. -

It's sitting on a pretty good base. Rock Solid came in and did all the soil stabilization. They stayed a day or two ahead of us, then we came in and laid down 60,000 tons of CA-6 over that. Ozinga set up a batch plant just up the road for this pour. They are doing it in sections. Scurto is doing the concrete work. After they pour the Scurto guys are out there riding on the machines that do the concrete finishing, about 4 or 5 at a time smoothing out the concrete. Interesting to watch. I bet between the gravel & concrete the floor is two feet thick. -

I think BCR57 told me Ozinga bought a batch of trucks that another company didn't take and that was the reason for the white ones. They have a mix of everything now that they've bought or tried to buy everybody in northern Illinois. Was dodging a bunch of those clowns yesterday. They must have the drivers wound tight over there cuz they drive like idiots! -

I've seen the DM out running all summer. No other Superliners as far as I know. They have a black 4 axle CH and a three axle CL700, a couple W900's but no other Superdogs. -

Got an up close picture of the Zimmerman Superliner. E9 powered I believe. This was the former Bulldog Earthmoving lowboy. -
I agree, he's out of his freaking mind if he thinks the terrorists give a shit about global warming. The two things have absolutely nothing to do with each other. On another note I love how America and a couple other nations have to change everything we do in order to comply with eco freak regulations while turd world countries like China and others can pollute as much as they want. We can cut our emissions in half while China doubles theirs. Doesn't seem fair or logical, but I guess as long as terrorists don't get hurt feelings its a win for Obummer!

A friend of mine that works at Zimmermans sent me these photos of their recently redone 1990 DM rolloff. I've seen it out a few times. Sharp looking truck.
