Thanks Barry,I might if I can figure out the proper category and how to do it...and i'm still afraid everybody will point and laugh at me -freighttrain's a hard act to follow! just kidding-I can edit youtube videos, but i'm too lazy,so it is what it is. Maybe i'll try to do a better one later. We were mainly just trying out the camera's video setting.

I put LED tail lights and marker lights on the rear, and they have to be hooked up backwards with positive ground systems.I couldn't figure out what to ground to get everything working- I ended up with tail lights and turn signals, but no brake lights,so I took the easy way out. I put a spring loaded toggle switch in an old CB antannae -that doesn't look right...anyhow, bracket.I wired the brake lights to the switch and mounted the bracket to the shift lever so I could reach it easily,so whenever I want brake lights I can just flip the switch either way with my finger without taking my hand off the lever, and when I let go it comes back to center by itself and they go off. I know it's not how it should be,but it works great!
  3. Now that's a good story!

I went ahead and posted another one. I didn't particularly like it,but it's out there now. It's so bad i'm already sorry I posted it,but I guess i'll leave it until I get one that's better. The video's bad, shifting is bad, driving bad-but it sounds good.

I don't really think so-I tried to post it like the other one,but it just wouldn't work. Might've been too long. So I thought i'd try it on youtube, and it worked. All you gotta do is click "upload video",or something like that, and that's it. It took me longer to figure out how to post the link to it actually.
  6. Hi!..so,they had lots of B-model mixers?
  7. Thank you Skip-thank you very much indeed, and merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and yours.

Well,I posted my first youtube video. Not much to it really, and kind of shaky-you know how a cement mixer rides! This was taken after I left the stoplight at Concord,Va. headed west on rt. 460,and passing by Litchford's garage. I'm only about a mile from the shop here.

    Pc Problems

Merry Christmas to you and yours also Paul, and thanks. Bill called me back and said the same thing you did. I shut everything down, cut the power off too, restarted, started defragmenting again, and when the disc anylization process finished it said it didn't need to defragment at this time. So it must have worked at first, but it just kept going, and going, and going...anyway,now I know who else to ask for computer advice.
  10. Well,I was gonna try another video, but the PC is still defragmenting. I think something's wrong-it said it could take from a few minutes to a few hours, but it ran all yesterday afternoon and all night so it should be done by now! I might call old Bill back. I thought my Norton 360 did it automatically,it's set to,but Bill said Norton was nothing but trouble, and there are better free programs available when the Norton expires. It was preloaded on my computer when I bought it. My skype and eyeball chat were both working slow yesterday, with about a 20 second delay,so he called on the phone and helped me with this defragmenting process. Found out it was last done in September. I might just need to shut down and restart, but I don't want to undo anything i've already done,so i'd better ask somebody that knows what's going on.

    Defraggin'

    Defraggin'

Here's a picture of the Mack frame rail trailer at Metalsa in Roanoke, where we deliver coils to regularly.I've been running the disc defragmenter ever since about 11 am,and I might try another longer video if it ever finishes. It might work, since it downloaded this picture twice...stupid computers

    Test Video

Hi Paul,my Kodak digital camera will take videos too, until the memory card fills up,I just downloaded it to my PC like I do pictures then posted it the same way too- I was surprised and happy that it worked too!
  14. No,I'm from Virginia but used to pass through Danbury a lot going to Boston. Haven't been in the area for a long time now.
  15. Thank you everyone, and right back at ya'- merry Christmas to all,and happy new year!
  16. Hi! Is that Danbury as in Connecticut?

    Test Video

Hi Joe! it worked on mine. It's only 20 seconds.I have a one minute video of me driving, but FreightTrain ruined that for me-he makes me look like a rookie, shifting slow, one stick at a time, scratching and scraping! No,It's not that bad,but still no comparison to his famous video. p.s.-yeah,stupid computers! ("stupid computer..."-freighttrain)

    Test Video

A little bit of video we shot coming back from the parade, headed west on rt.460 in Appomattox,Va. Don't know if this will work, never tried this before.
  19. Yeah I called every truck parts place from Richmond to Roanoke, and nobody had 4" stuff anymore. They said they could order it,but it might take a couple of weeks to get it. My muffler had a hole rusted through where the band went around it and I took it off thinking maybe I could weld a patch around it,but found it was so bad you could poke a hole through it with your finger most anywhere,so I had to do something. The muffler was open,no baffles in it at all,so I assumed the straight pipe wouldn't be that much louder, but that theory was way off for some reason-it's much, much louder!
  20. I saw the results from the Cumberland County Christmas Parade .Ma sent me a newspaper clipping and I managed to get another first in the 1951-1975 antique car or truck category. The decorations I put on it looked really bad. It ended up looking like a cement mixer with a bunch of stuff hanging off it,but it always seems to be a popular entry down there. I saw lots of people looking at it,pointing at it,and taking lots of pictures of it. At least nobody seemed to be laughing and pointing at the driver. I went to Fremont,Ohio and back first of the week and was ready to call it a week. I thought Jeff was gone to Florida, but he's not going until next week,so I went back up the road to Avon,Ohio. Besides,he gave me $200 for Christmas before I left so I figured i'd put forth the extra effort-it was just Wednesday anyway. You know what they say, " when the cat's away..." Now i'm glad I did go of course and i'll be off until Wednesday anyway. I got my safety bonus for the year too and went to Wal-Mart yesterday and knocked out all my Christmas shopping-gift cards for everyone! I try to get a little something for the nieces, nephews, and granchildren anyway- Everyone else is on their own,but I did give some BMT calendars too.
  21. yeah, long as your bones don't start sounding like a hog eating hickory nuts when you walk-then you'd better go to the doctor.
  22. Hey Paul, there's a Fleet Pride in Lynchburg too. F.L.Moore and Sons gets a lot of parts from them. I ended up getting a 5" stack for the mixer from then and all the necessary adapters connect it to the 4" pipe. Then I made a bracket to put the old muffler guard over it so it would look sort of original anyway. Then I noticed 5" stacks piled up in every corner at the shop that drivers had taken off to put 6 or 8" ones on their truck that I could have gotten free.

    Goofing Off

Only problem is,I don't have a snow blower!..or snow. If you want to send yours down,i'll mail it right back when I get done blowing the leaves into my neighbor's yard...I mean into the woods.
  24. I started raking these knee deep leaves yesterday-perhaps I should have started sooner, like a month ago.Reminds me of West Virginia's snow removal policy. I was forced to stop when the torrential downpour started...when 12 or 13 drops of rain hit me I retreated back inside. So today I tried it again and broke the handle on the rake, but I repaired it with a plastic oar handle from an old inflatable raft I used to have and half a roll of electrical tape. Got them piled up anyway,in several different piles. Now all I gotta do is get them transferred from the yard into the woods, maybe next weekend. Can't do too much in one day, it'd ruin my reputation as a world class slacker.
  25. You'll have to teach Paxton how to shift that tri-plex without using the clutch until his hip is better, and he'll be all right.
