  1. Yes-now you know "the rest of the story"-Paul Harvey.... ...good day!
  2. I love questions that I can answer, and there's not that many of them. Much like the old question of '' what's the maximum torque for this application?"-stop tightening half a turn before you wring it off-the answer in your case is "a hundred rpms before it comes undone". Even 1 rpm before it blows up is OK,but 100 gives you some room to play with.Again, just happy to be able to help.
  3. yeah,he just looks like he would be the kind of guy you could stand around and talk to all day and never get tired of it. I looked at his gallery though and wondered if there had been an explosion- he has lot's of unconnected parts that look like they are supposed to be connected. What's up with that Bollweevil?
  4. Is there truck parking available anywhere nearby,or somewhere you could drop a trailer and bobtail to the show, just in case truck drivers passing through might want to attend the show?
  5. looks like the cable is run from the boom, but there's also a strap or something down lower ,frame level-hard to tell exactly what it is.
  6. Paul? Oh no,not at all. In fact I told him he was engaging in a battle of wits with an unarmed man,so I'm not getting into anything like that.
  7. yeah, she's got some bigguns! she's in a family way too,so her eyes will be getting even more bigger i'm sure That's freakin' hilarious yeah, that's enough being serious-nonsense is way more fun.I have to be serious and work my a$$ off all week."lookin' that dog in the a$$" as my brother-in-law used to say, even though I hadn't driven a Mack in years.
  8. yeah, she's got some bigguns! she's in a family way too,so her eyes will be getting even more bigger i'm sure ...too bad i'm old enough to be her daddy
  9. OK, enough of the nonsense,it's time to be serious. I've got a 'chicken on a can' cooking in the smoker oven too, always tender, juicy, and most delicious! Very easy to make too. I had to start this all over just now-it's very windy here and the power went off just for a couple of seconds, long enough to shut the computer off so I lost everything and had to restart it and start all over again. A big deal when you type with one finger. I left Sunday going to Fremont,Oh. When I unloaded there Monday morning the parking lot was covered with a thick layer of ice so slick you could barely stand up.It was extra slick because it was warming up rapidly and was wet on top. 38% slicker than if it wasn't wet. ( I just make this stuff up,no scientific facts here...well,once in a while there might be,'ya never know! ) It was a major operation to get in the proper unloading position. Troy the unloader man said "well maybe the weather will be better when you come back". Then I went all the way to Sharon,Pa. to reload coils for Handy in Lynchburg.Unloaded there Tuesday morning, then by the shop for fuel, and on to Dillwyn to load for Fremont,Oh. When I unloaded there Wednesday morning it was pouring rain. Rt. 250 was completely covered before I got to Ashland,Oh. but i drove through OK. I told Troy after I was unloaded "maybe the weather will be better next time i'm here". Then I went all the way to Sharon,Pa. to load coils for Handy in Lynchburg.Wonder what happened to I.D.S. in Macedonia, where we loaded the coils for Metalsa in Roanoke. A great place to load, never took long, all the guys were friendly there-something you don't see much anymore, and the lovely Rachel in the office with the big b-b...big eyes. So after I unloaded in Lynchburg Thursday I went to the shop and fueled, and sure enough there was A Brook Park (Cleveland) Oh. load waiting for me. Don't get to go by the house, don't even get to sit down, before you gotta go again.I've already ran two Fremonts-I told Todd "I'll take this Brook Park and deliver it Monday". He said " if you don't want that I've got a Parkersburg at Ed's". Great-Parkersburg sounds much better on Thursday than Cleveland. So I went to Moneta, load the lumber,go to Parkersburg, and when I get unloaded Friday morning I have to go all the way to Brookfield,Oh. to load back-coils for Metalsa. I might as well have took the Brook Park in the first place! That's the way it's been since Christmas, every weekend I either don't get home 'til Saturday or have to leave on Sunday. But as Joe says the bills never stop,so I can't either-not for long anyway. Unloaded in Roanoke Saturday morning,so at least i'm off until Monday now...though it's already Sunday afternoon. By the way, pretty catchy title too, don't 'ya think?
  10. Cheez Joe,where did you come up with all this crap? You've got the story all wrong. Bernard (uncle Bernie) Rubble was my great uncle, twice removed. Barney Rubble was his great-great grandfather, who lived in the town of Bedrock,a page right out of history..At least that's what my grandfather told me in a bar once. You are at least partially correct though-after Fred Flintstone moved all his family to Flintstone,Maryland (this was after his alleged affair with Betty Rubble, and after Pebbles and Bam-Bam divorced, when tension between the two families was at it's peak. Pebbles did indeed have a small army of kids, but when Bam-Bam found out he was sterile and couldn't have children, that's when the fertilizer hit the windmill,so to speak-it was all downhill for both families from then on) Barney lived the rest of his days in Bedrock, lonely and bitter they say. It was indeed great-great uncle Bernard who finally said "s#@w you guys,i'm going home". That's when he did the finger on the map deal.He actually wanted to move to California, but the map was upside down and he had his eyes closed of course. The rest,as they say,is history.
  11. well so do I about other guys,but when it comes to me I'm a handsome #@$%6 ,ain't I?
  12. pictures showing what I looked like yesterday, today, and what i'll probably look like tomorrow,Lord willing. actually, that's me on Saturday, then Sunday ready to go to work, and me about 1979 or '80. Now THAT'S some hair! (and about 40 less pounds!) Yeah, talk about changing-here's the 79 or 80 and half today... an old gray haired geezer. But i'm OK with that.
  13. ...and I was gonna get a haircut at Wal-Mart last weekend, and I think the girl ran a couple of customers around me so I left, and I had an appointment today to get one at 10:30 and got in at 10:29 so I cancelled.Besides,I don't look that bad...do I?
  14. that's -hey,do you have espn or what?-the last thing I did Thursday, before I went back up the road.Got my check and went by the bank.
  15. I feel your pain...many times over the years i've taken a truck back to the dealership (usually Truck Enterprises,Roanoke,Va.) knowing something wasn't right only to be told "there's nothing wrong with it-it's supposed to be like that". Many times.
  16. I thought that Transtar on the trailer was one I used to drive, looks just like it,then I realized mine didn't have the vines on the front of it.

  17. I can't top that title Paul, you're engaging in a battle of wits with an unarmed man if you think I could,so i'm just gonna surrender now.
  18. I did a while ago.He's around here somewhere.

    Me

well...not really, that I can tell anyway, but I don't wake up in the middle of the night coughing,or in the morning with that horrible bad taste in my mouth,so that's certainly all good. So actually, yeah,I guess I do.
  21. other dog

    Me

just in case anybody was wondering, this is me,right now-what?..nobody was wondering?.. so,nobody cares where I go or what I do,or what I look like?..well,never mind then,i'll just be here-it relaxes me
  22. sounds like everything is just like it oughta be...or like it used to be anyway.I used to like to look in my mirror and see a big cloud of smoke every time I changed gears in that 5 speed.
  23. Sounds scary man. Is that whole road curvy like that? I'd be scared shi!le$$. That's me though. I see what your saying about the picture with the sign closest to you. I could probably imagine how steep that curve is maybe.. naw, that was the worst curve, but yeah,it's all crooked like that and up and down all the way across.
  24. A Flintstone is any descendent of Fred Flintstone, originally from Bedrock,Pa.( between Breezerock and Somerrock,Pa.) Fred and Wilma Flintstone's only child was their daughter Pebbles, who married "Bam Bam" Rubble, son of Barney and Betty Rubble,Fred and Wilma's closest friends. Though it was rumored for years that Fred was having an affair with Betty,it was never proven.Even though Fred had no male offspring to carry on the Flinstone name,he was rumored to have had dozens of illegitimate children who went by Flintstone, and after Pebbles and Bam Bam divorced,Pebbles started using her maiden name again, and all 14 of the children she had after the divorce were named Flintstone. Most of the bunch ended up in Maryland, about 12 or 14 miles east of Cumberland, where the town was named Flintstone, and is still known by that name to this day...glad I could help. ...just goes to show 'ya,no matter what the question is SOMEBODY's got the answer here! ...and it's all true
  25. I guess if you look at the picture with the 11% grade sign closest to you-over to the right is the side of the mountain it looked like you were gonna run off the side of. Remember I was coming the opposite direction from here-I would have been meeting myself in the picture-and had never been on this road before. I momentarily lost the road, until I looked out of the passenger side window.I was driving the orange and white Mack seen in my gallery. It had a 300 with a 5 speed,no power steering, and of course no engine brake, and loaded with steel coils. That's why I say the picture doesn't show how steeply the road climbed in that curve,I couldn't even see the curve until I was in it,wondering why there hadn't been a sign or something saying "road ends, right here right now...you're S.O.L."
