  1. Well I emailed a foundry about making emblems and the salesman said they would take a look at what I want made then he came back with the hole copyright bs. Well at least I tryied right lol

  2. Plastic can be plated. The knobs on all our favorite 60's era cars used to be and some were plastic. I'd google and find a plater who is experienced and find out what the requirements of theplastic are before jumping in too deep. It sounds like another run is in order from Watt's. A good used set can be copied too...a small foundry can make up patterns and pour new ones. Still need B-815 emblems if anybody has some that can be coppied....

I just rememberd there is a small foundry in the next town over from me ill look into it see if they can help us.
  3. I had a thought, if Barry can't get any b81 emblems made I was going to look into this digital printing thing and see if I can't get them made out of plastic, it would be better then nothing I guess the only thing is how do they put that Chrome looking coating on plastic. Let me know if you guys would be interested in trying this.

  4. Thanks, got the fenders and doors on this weekend, was hoping to finish the wiring but we had a storm come through so I closed up and went inside, its about ready to roll need to change the oil, change some rear tires, I got some tubeless need to get the rims painted and mounted, put mud flaps on and a couple other things then I hope to be riding in style, since its a contour cab I have been trying to remain on the thinner side so my belly dont rub the steering wheel, when we redid the seats I had my wife and mom in law redo the drivers seat they put 6 inches of foam in it and I had to suck my gut in to slide in. I guess that was why drivers were all skinny back in the 50 and 60's

I here ya on the belly clearance lol im a big boy and I just fit in my b81 with no room to spare.

  5. HI I have a complete shutter assembly for b81 do you have any b81 fenders we can trade for thanks mike

I do not have any fenders but a friend of mine that is a member on here was going to get a few sets made. PM me with a price on your shutter assembly if you would like to do a cash deal.

  6. I am in need of 6 of the smooth style aluminum shutters to finish my shutter assemble. I tryed using sitters from a b61 but the drive arms are on the one end are crimped on the opposite way. No one probably has any of these laying around but I figured I would just put it out here anyway. Thanks

  7. sweet. never seen a small beige wheel like that. most all B20 and B30's i have seen with the small wheel were black

didnt even know they had a smaller wheel like that, might need one for this belly of mine.

  8. Well I started my truck up today and as i waited about a min and a half for oil pressure to show on the gauge I thought this cant be good, then the pressure shot up to 80, not too bad i guess then about 2 more minutes go by then a little man with a big hammer showed up inside the engine and started banging away lol . The gauge still showed about 80 psi after this came about. The end of last year when i found oil in the antifreeze I didnt run it until last week. I changed the oil cooler, filter and oil but i guess the damage must have already been done. I suspect that my truck was beaten hard before it was retired by whom ever had it last so it might have been on its way out anyway, now its time to try and find a 250 or a 237 and send the 711 to the big yard in the sky.

  9. nice. just a little much. i remember when i pulled the 413 out of my B613. tried to put it on a regular store bought engine stand, bent thant sucker right down to the ground haha. had to build my own. i envy the forktruck! always wanted a big forktruck with 10 20 tires on it

Are you trying to say you don't like my engine crane method lol
  10. Our dept still runs a 1978 Mack pumper and a 1976 rescue and I'm from a area where most trucks are replaced every 15 to 20 years except for us for some reason. Are other two pices are from 1991 and 1999. As the other guys said 20 years is the common age for a fire truck except for Mack of corse because they run for ever and don't rattle to pices lol

  11. The unit in the above picture apperes to be mounted on that small cast iron cross member and to the cross member that the rear of the cab is mounted to, if you look.close in the pic you can see the mount. Looking at my b81 the rear of my trans is about even with the back of the cab so I guessing that box in the above pic is mounted to the rear of the trans.

  12. Rudy,I have one on my B87 thats on top of the aux.trans.What 2 B87 did you see at the Mack Days.I was there and didn't see any,are you sure they werem't B81's.Thanks Mike Durkin

this one is the truck that the picture from my original post came from. I thought this truck was a b87 or it could be a b83. The truck with the silver bumper is a b87 almost sure.

  13. can Barry get us all shirts that say Im a BMT member on the back? haha

This thought has crossed my mind before a shirt with the 2 trucks on it like at the top of the bmt home page if it don't exist already.
  14. My wife and I will be there camped in the camping area. I felt the same after my first year at Macungie; who are the BMT people and where are they. We meet for the group photo at noon on Saturday and everyone left. Last year we had a dessert and refreshments time at our bus in the camping area and several members showed up. We are doing the same thing this year on Saturday at 2:00 at our bus in the camping area. All BMT members are invited. It's after lunch so don't have dessert with lunch. It's a time for all of us to meet at one place and get to know one another. If you have a nonBMT member with you they are welcome also. Saturday at 2:00 in the camping area. Look for the bus and a red Jeep Wrangler. See you then

Thank you vary much for the invite, I will see you there.

  15. Rudy, When I started working at Colonial Sand & Stone in 1971 I drove an International with a Rex horizontal mixer, mechanical drive. To shake down your load to get 12 yds in, you would have to put your 4 speed OD aux. (camel back trans.) in neutral and our 5 speed OD in third gear. Now when you put your hatch covers on and got to the job site you would again put your aux. in (N) and your main in 4th gear and mixed your load. Before you did any of this, there was a lever to engage the gears on top of your aux trans., I think it had 2 speedsBULLHUSK

That's interesting how that setup works. I did see internationals for sale that said they had power towers on them. Where these things mounted right to the back of thr trans or was there a short jack shaft between it. I forgot to look at that when I took that picture that day.
