  1. When I converted mine I need the following-water pump, gaskets, oil cooler, oiler cooler tube to spin on housing, and spin on housing. Plus new O-rings. Remember there are two different size o-rings that look similar. As far as the water filter its just the water filter manifold and gaskets.

    thanks for the info
  2. doesn't your 237 already have a coolant filter? if not it must be a really early one. I have only saw a few 237's with the 711 style water manifold and the big lubrifiner canister instead of spin ons.

yes Matt it is a early 237 out of a r my friend has a 71 r model with a 237 and the filter housing is mounted on the frame behind the cab, it's pretty much set up the same way my 711 was.
  3. I'll see what I got by next week if your not in a hurry I might have a used one too

from the looks of it the coolent filter piece won't work with what I have. I need to figure out how the oil filter mount bolts on the engine as well , I'm not sure if there is more pieces involved or not.
  4. Hi I'm looking for some advice or tips with putting the fly wheel and clutch that was on my 711 on to a 237. I'm guessing the fly wheel will bolt on but I'm just wondering if there would be any balance issues or any other dumb little things I'm not seeing. The clutch I have is a cl50

    Thanks Rudy

  5. I've looked into these but found the studs not long enough to fit through the bracket with 65 rears. I don't think it's safe to take apart the chamber and install longer studs.

A friend of mine bought a b61 dump and it looks to have 44k rears but the brackets look to be the same as mine and I'm pretty sure the truck has there's maxi chambers on them I'll take a few pictures when I get down there
  6. Well I haven't made too much progress on my truck but I'm back on the project. I got the drive shaft out and the trans out last night. I was working on the front axle back in the winter and discovered I need king pins and a deal fell through for a set of 22 in hubs.

I am also trying to figure out what to do with the rear breaks, I would like to put modern cans on the truck and the smallest one's I can find are 24/24 chambers but there a little to big in diameter.

  7. this really sucks to hear i just talked to him in the beginning of January, i was supposed to take a trip to his place in the vary near future.

It is with great heartbreak and sadness that i have to inform the BMT family that member Chris Friedauer (maxidyne237) of New Jersey suddenly passed away yesterday (2/15).

Chris was a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a cousin, a bestfriend... Chris you will be missed more then words can ever say!

There is a wake this Thursday from 7-9 PM at the:

    Holmdel Funeral Home
    26 South Holmdel Rd
    Holmdel, NJ 07733

Funeral is at 11 AM on Friday,

    Colts Neck Reformed Church
    72 County Road 537 West
    Colts Neck, NJ 07722

I'm at a loss of words, Chris had so much passion for his business, Mack trucks, his family, etc. I was honored to call him my friend

this really sucks to hear i just talked to him in the beginning of January, i was supposed to take a trip to his place in the vary near future. I didnt know Chris vary well but he did seem like an awesome guy and was willing to help me out even though he did not know me long.

  8. The tranny box brake down seems repairable. Welding, soldering, brass soldering or just epoxy but well pre-cleaned and degreased.

The generator mounting area doesn't look nice. Maybe to drill through and put studs instead of bolts?

that's what a friend of mine suggested about the generator mount holes , try to salvage what I can of the threads and soder studs in. If I come across a better engine for a good price will will get rid of this old 711.

  9. On the center bolt if you don't have the right tools i.e. torque multiplyer. large impact. ect.. wait til you are getting ready for paint and take it to a spring shop have them do both sides and in a few hours and a couple hundred it will be just like new.

I do for the most part have the tools or access to them it's just the condition of the other bolt that scares me.
  10. yup, agree looks like a water push out. good welding shop can weld that right up with cast iron rod. I have seen a few Mack trans broke in this same spot actually. mine has about 15 pounds of brass on it. I ended up changing out the front case with a spare. glad to see you moving along on this gem and decided not to sell it.

a friend of mine is going to pin it
