  1. Thanks for the info. He told me that it would need to be machined off a little. Doug
  2. I talked to Bill a little while ago. He has been working on the engine and trans mount. The B42X has a double frame and the other truck we got the engine from don't. He is having to make a few little adjustments on the trans mount. He is going to get it all mounted up and everything to fit then pull it all back out and paint the frame. He has already steam cleaned everything so it is not nasty. I will keep the post updated as it goes along. Doug
  3. I make my wife scold me hard with that. She has the same birth year and day. I may have to eat alpo and sleep out side if I don't hush. Lol.
  4. Yea I know didn't post. They are on the other site www.latc.us in the Photos page under Bill Melders album. I tried to get them to post here but you can still see them over there. Doug
  5. We can take the glass to the glass shop. We have a shop near by and the guy is good. He needs the drivers side frame for the vent glass. The one on both trucks are not any good. Doug
  6. If anyone wants to see pictures of what has been done so far you can go to www.latc.us then click on Photos. Then click on Bill Melders album and there are new pictures near the bottom of the page. I will be posting a lot of pictures as we go so you can check back often. Doug
  7. The truck we are getting the engine and trans from was a B42 at one time. The front springs on it are not as heavy as the ones on the B42X we are fixing up. Doug
  8. This truck is a 1959 B42X. He is looking for a left side vent glass assy with a good glass. He also needs both side windows. Doug
  9. We have been talking about the clutch and front springs. Doug
  10. We may mount a three speed brown lipe we have to use the overdrive for a little more speed. Not sure on that yet.
  11. We got all the mounts for the engine and trans out of the other truck. We have ran this engine but did not drive it. the rears was locked up so we had to pull the axel caps just to get it to roll. The old gasser was worn out bad. It left a cloud behind when you drove it. We traded for this little truck last fall. We live in central LA 50 miles south of Monroe. We hauled a John Deere 520 to NY and traded for the B 42. We left here Friday night and was back here Tuesday morning at five am. We had one night in a motel. That was a long trip.
  12. We just pulled the trans out of the doner truck this afternoon. I think we are going to pull the cab off the B 42 and then pull the old gasser and trans. My friend said he is going to clean and paint the frame while everything is out. He wants to replace the air lines as well. He works on Macks everyday but they are the modern ones. We both love the old trucks and tractors. We are in a antique and tractor club. That is the web site where you can see our toys I am the web master for that site. Doug www.latc.us
  13. We have removed the dump bed. We are going to use the truck to pull our antique tractors.
  14. We already got the front mount out. We are going to use the duplex from the other truck. We don't know at this time but we may mount a three speed brown lipe behind it so we can use the overdrive on it to get a little more speed. We have that also with everything to hook up the shift linkage.
  15. You can go to our web site www.latc.us then click on Photos then click on Bill Melders album and look near the bottom for a few more pictures. I will post more on that web site as we go along with it. I try to keep that site updated the best as I can. Doug
  16. We have a doner truck. We will have to change the front engine mount. The Trans has its own mounts on the diesel that supports the rear of the engine. We are not getting in a hurry with this. It belongs to a friend of mine. We play with old John Deere tractors and this old truck. He also has a 36 IH tone and half truck that we have to mess with.
  17. We are in the process of putting a diesel in this little B. We wanted to ust the 20 speed quad but it had diffrent mounts so we will have to use the duplex.
  18. It is not for sale. It has a duplex in it. The green one has a quad twenty speed. The old cab is a B 42 on the red one. The engine is going to go in the green one. The green one is a gasser. We are looking forward to getting that diesel in it from the red truck.
  19. We got this red truck for parts for the green one. The fuel pump was stuck when we got it but now it runs like a top. It had been setting up for about twenty years.
  20. We hauled a B42 dump from NY to LA on a trailer like that. It was a dove tail though. No problem at all. Doug
  21. I have posted a few pictures from a show we had at a Bluegrass Fest in Olla, LA There are several pictures with tractors and three old trucks. Yup one is a B42. Go to www.latc.us then click on Photos. Then look for Olla Bluegrass Fest 2012. Click there to see the pictures. Doug
  22. I drove a log truck with one back in the early 70s. It had stright pipes and sounded good in the morning leaving the house with a load about five am. Neighbors did not like it a lot. I was young and did not care lol. it had a 13 speed. It was sick coming out of the woods. Had to have a push most of the time. Doug
  23. I went to the Boeuf River Tractor pull in Oak Grove ,LA today. I posted pictures on our web site. Go to www.latc.us then click on Photos then find the Boeuf River album. I posted several pictures. Doug
