I think it was the White 3000 (1949-1950??) with an electric screw jack lift, but the Diamond T low cab forward with a spring loaded counter balanced manual lift designed by the Murty Bros (1952??) was a close second. My Diamond T 921 sleeper has the same lift and I can tilt it by myself.

In reference to the REO cabs: When White Motor bought REO and DT in 58 & 59 it ended the DT association with IH and the Comfovision cab. In 1969 the production was combined in the REO plant Lansing Mich using the REO cab as standard with an option of the Autocar cab. By about 1965 the Autocar cab became the standard for road tractors and the REO cab continued for vocational work. The Diamond REO name was created on May 1st, 1967 and used both cabs a described before.

You guys are bringing back memories!! The Wagon Wheel in Paradise is completely gone, went by there when we up to Lititz last year. Another one gone is Racoon Valley on 75 just north of Knoxville. Ester's on RT 22 next to Frystown shut down 3rd shift due to the loss of truck business.

Ron If you can find a cheap motel within walking distance of the ones listed on the registration form you can get a $5, for the whole event, shuttle bus pass. I got reservations at Microtel which shows on the map as close? Mike H The sleep in truck bit started with Springfield Mass and the idiots (Mr J) made it the same as tent camping fee. Rick Knox is working to get it lowered but it will probably be like fighting a money hungry City Hall!!!! Randy You are right!! Most of the Executive Committee have "deep pockets" and/or a company to cover their costs, therefore they do not much care what it costs the one man, one truck collector. Have not seen any figures for 2013 but before that they managed to spend $200,000 on putting on a show. Brocky

B61 That is correct, supposedly to pay for the shower facility. BUT I am not sure how they will know if you sleep in your truck IF you do NOT tell them!!!!! Also One of the Board members is going to try an lower it to $10, the price a of a non fueling truck stop shower. Brocky

R686ST At Macungie there will be in excess of 600 trucks in a lovely park setting, as well as a large flea market and craft area and a "for Sale" corral. Spectator admission is free all days, although you will have to pay for your car parking ( Fire Police and Boy Scouts) There is a free ( donations accepted) picnic supper Friday night. This year they are asking you to pre-register so they can get enough food and pre-register's will EAT First. 301-331-6210. There are also free busses Friday and Saturday to both the Mack Museum and the Mack Macungie assembly plant. The Park has the community swimming pool which is open, Mike Yarnell please jump in here and advise outsider accessability and cost?? There are Diners and Pubs on the Main Street 1 block from the park as well as food vendors at the show Within an hour or so's drive is the PA Dutch Amish region of Lancaster County (Parrish in your terms) where they still farm with mules ETC and probably should not mention it, but in between is the large Outlet Mall in Reading. I really think the company should also have a lawyer present.. It sure helped in Tamaqua after the Hometown Chief, in his unmarked car, got thru playing with his calculator the total button read $11,727.50. The $400 I spent on the lawyer was all it cost me in the end. Mainly because he knew how and when to ask to above questions. He also advised me that we were in front of a locally elected judge (political hack) and if we lost we would appeal and the judges in the appellate court were trained lawyers.

REF Continental engines: You can get some good answers on the Brockway Trucks.org site. I believe that there is a shop in the Utica NY area which rebuilds them and there is also a parts supply place in the Chicago area.

Joe You are making me want to come back up to Yankee Territory for breakfast!! Pork Roll and egg was good, but I prefeered Pastrami and egg on a hard roll. Or a pastrami and swiss omlet with an onion bagel. Never liked a lot of krout but it sure beats black eyed peas and collard greens!!!! Brocky

Mike This year it was the 1st weekend of Nov. Keep your eyes on the calendar in ATHA WOT. There is also a show at Spencer NC in the spring where they have been shown.
