Attached are two fire truck wiring diagrams I got from the Mack Historical Museum the other week at one of their Volunteer Saturdays. Both have dual distributors and dual starter buttons. One appears to have the second Ammeter on the dash, the other diagram has it at the pump panel. Never seen that! Our International truck has a similar setup with two 12 volts to make 24 for the starter, that parallel solenoid has gotten knocked out a couple of times. Not the way I read it. 4 six volts to make up 12volts so two sets in series the sets in parallel. The two solenoids are for key on and start. I've never been very good with these diagrams, at least there are no Diode or Resister alien symbols. If they're 6V two bring twelve V. Almost as Geoff said.
