Excellent usually ZEP truck wash will take off lettering heat gun for plastic labeling , striping also time consuming for removing the plastic but it slides right off with the heat gun but no matter what you do you’re still gonna tell we’re all that stuff was. Your  not going to avoid shooting the box with fresh paint. Thanks for the updates. I really like it myself.let’s giterdone… bob

You should go old school get a bunch of silver grey  paint and a roller

Roll over the whole box mask off the moldings not sure how old you are but back on that day. They were all just plain aluminum. I don’t know when they decided to paint everything white.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well Last week was kind of a wash on work on the Midliner. Went to go pick up my daughter at School and 08 GMC HD3500 Duramax 4x4 was a no crank no start. So this had happened one time before when it was 2 months old and it was a faulty starter. But that was GMC's issue under warranty. But I checked starter relays and fuses and all worked or looked good. Replace starter (That really sucks on a 4x4 diesel hard) Pull old have tested (it's bad) replace. No crank no start, still check batteries cause I'm only seeing 12V on the gauge. Test both test "ok" But you have them test good but fail under load, so replace. Still no crank/no start. Check the Park /neutral safety switch on the Allison and that's good so I'm thinking its maybe ignition switch, and get the column apart and my ignition switch is much different than anything in the video's because my truck has the Factory remote start. So I pause, get my tester and check the 2 40amp fuses with the tester that look 100% intact visually and sure enough one is fried but not where you can see it.... Replace truck firers right up. So I think the fuse fried when the starter died, Awesome, bust out pressure washer clean up all the greasy hand prints off the truck after crawling under it in my yard, clean the truck and get in to move it "No crank no start" look at the 40amp fuse and its clearly fried. replace truck starts. Spend 2 more days tracing wires from the fuse block to the starter. Find that the waring harness cover loom as gone thru so many heat cycles that its literally crumbling in my hands. And I find the short where the purple wire was rubbing at the base of the steering box and had worn thru the wire coating. Seal the wire replace all the plastic wire loom covering with new, and put a 2nd larger over the 1st and zip tie the harness away from as many high heat spots and secure from it rubbing. And that really sucked having large hands but by Thursday of last week after 4 days everything was GTG. But majority of this was caused by GM's piss poor planning and wire harness routing from the factory.... Frustrating.

On another note the 3 "Bibles" for my Mack MS200P came in the mail.... Damn, these break down everything on the truck. Thanks for telling me to look on Ebay!

As for the Mack well Checked her out yesterday after hauling 10-900 Lbs. Hay rolls for my buddy's farm with the GMC and my trailer. His farm where my Mack is parked and I think I have come up with a name for this truck....

Everyone knows Christine a 56 Plymouth Fury, that would repair itself in the movie of same name. Well my Midliner is/has doing the same thing... This time the Tach that had not worked since I 1st started the truck started working yesterday when I started the truck. The truck has also "fixed its fuel gauge and its non working break lights... I think its just happy bring run and driven after laying dormant for so many years.

So I may have to call my Midliner, Macksine...
