What governor?

shut the engine, remove the intake on the air comp head and spray some penetrating oil in the ports and start the engine with the intake off. it may have sticking unloader valves. you can spray a little shot while running it, but just spray small shots, not a steady stream.

D-2 Gov's are cheap, so you may need one if it is sticking as well.

Replace the gov, Unloader only gets air from the gov. Had it happen many times with stuff that sits.

If compressor valves are stuck in the unloaded position it will not build air at all.

not knowing why it sat for year and a half OR WHY it has been started NOW :: my personal recommendation is to slightly tap it while running to see if it corrects itself. this unit going into service ??? THEN put $$$ into it.  put new governor and misc. $$ into so it can sit another year is like a government operation .

Yeah, i guess so.  I only suggested a few squirt's of lube in the intake, to free them up.. of course, the governor is likely stuck, are they still under $30.00 ? .  It sat for a year....

Not sure where that info is from?

I said it's been sitting about a year.  I parked it maybe November last year.  Hasn't been used because I've been busy.

Have only been home a few weeks this summer and other stuff needed done.  Winter I worked a month out, 2 weeks home, and worked another job on those 2 weeks.

Doesn't cost me anything for stuff to sit.  Have several other trucks and equipment that isn't used much but when is needed is handy to have.

What I don't see (may be there, I don't see in the pictures) is a signal line to an air drier for purge. Does this truck have an air drier?

Moisture and oil/gunk from the wet tank can get back to the governor if the tanks aren't drained EVERY day when in use, without an air drier.

I, for one, can never be bothered to drain tanks every day. I had air driers on my stuff and never had a problem until the drier had some sort of problem.

If you don't have a drier, they are not hard to install to limit future problems.

You may get it to work by cleaning as Brocky recommends, but if you don't address the source of the problem, it may stick the next time you need the truck.

The gov. Is mounted on the compressor.

Air drier still need a signal from the gov to the air drier. That means two lines, one for the air pressure from the wet tank, and the 2nd for a purge signal to the air drier. That line comes off the middle port. Same port that goes to the unloader port on the compressor.

He may have one hidden behind the intake piping, I can't see.
