Hey all, I am working on a 96 RD688 and I have a short or shorts to the frame somewhere. When I disconnect the ground baytery switch the the frame goes to battery voltage. I get various voltages on the service side of the fuse block, but removing all fuses doesn't completely remove voltage from the frame. What would be really helpful is the fuse block diagram or at least labels for the fuses. Thank you

Is the short there with all the fuses out and the ground connected ?

You will still see voltage even with fuses etc out I woukd think as most radios have a side thats live to the battery + all the time to store memory of the radios, then theres clocks etc

A amp gauge is probably what you need here

I assume it still has the terminal strips on the fire wall ?

I would pull all the fuses

Then reconnect the battery negative, just sit it on the terminal and see if it arcs

If so I'm guessing the battery + lead goes straight to the terminal strips ?

Try lift the + lead at the terminal strip and touch the negative again

If it's still shorted

The short is between the battery and the terminal strip and Joey was onto it
