Father passed away, inherited old Mack truck

ck14

Question

Hello,

My father used to run a movie equipment/grip truck rental business in the 90s and early 2000s.  He has a cab and two trailers one larger than the other. He got sick about ten years ago and the truck has been sitting since. He passed away in December and I am executor of his estate and have absolutely no clue what to do with the truck and the trailers. Some friends have suggested paying someone to come scrap it, but I feel like it has value and it would be a shame to chop it up. I haven’t tried to start it and I need to find the keys but I’m certain that the battery would be dead and a lot of other issues from it sitting. Some animals have hung out in it too but I think it could be cleaned up.

is there any value in this or is it wrecked? Any advice on what to do? Located in northern nj close to the Delaware water gap.

thank you!

the trailer may have some value to it, but the truck is a MS series. combination of renault parts with a mack name. parts are hard to come by, and they troublesome.

you may be able to find someone who wants it for parts.

That truck is a good truck, but yes parts are hard to find.  I hope you can advertise it and get a few grand for it, and give someone a good truck to fix or part out.. I'm sorry about your loss..  jojo

Yes, just as Joey says you should be able to get a few thousand out of it at least there’s lots of members on here close to that area I’m sure one of them would be more than happy to go up and give you a hand. I would do it myself, but I am way out in Reno, good luck bud. Yeah losing your parents sucks big time. .. bob
