Onyx610
Is that the stand up style or the cleartech one box?
Onyx610
Pry the stand up since you want the bottom. They usually rust out.
Mackpro
If it’s cracked right above the DEF doser I’ve had good luck welding a bead over the crack with a wire feed Mig with standard steel wire. Done it 8-10 times with no issues 1
2014pinnacle
Im not sure where its my cracked my dealer says it’s cracked its the regular style not the clear tech.
Onyx610
Yea just weld it like MackPro said. You won’t be able to find just that piece without buying everything else.
2014pinnacle
I’m not sure where it’s cracked I look at and see nothing wrong with it physically.at the dealer you can buy the lower pan it’s $2500 or I can buy a refurbished for 1200
Onyx610
Tell them to circle the crack and then take the truck back and have someone weld it shut.
Mackpro
There is a round metal washer type mounting bracket welded onto the lower pan for the DEF doser. They usually crack horizontally about an inch above this mounting bracket. Usually only 2 inches long . I only found the cracks when replacing DEF doser or changing out DPF filters. Didn’t seem to cause any issues. I’d unhook the batteries and weld it while stil on the truck .

2014pinnacle
Where do see the rack from the outside or the inside of the pan? I replaced the def doser about a month ago and I didn’t notice any crack then.
Onyx610
If it’s cracked it will be on both sides haha. If you can’t see it I wouldn’t worry about it, or you can try heating it up in spots to see if the crack shows itself.
Onyx610
Or run it and spray soapy water
Mackpro
The cracks were not gapped open or leaking that we could tell . I believe it was from the weight of the 2 coolant lines and DEF line hanging unsupported off the end of the DEF doser that caused the cracks. We saw it in both Macks and Volvos.
2014pinnacle
The problem I’ve been having is the exhaust system isn’t getting hot enough and I keep getting dpf efficiency codes
