CTLLC Posted January 3, 2022 Share Posted January 3, 2022 I have 2014 Mack Pinnacle CHU, last week I parked it when I got home. I left the truck running as we have -20 to -40 degree weather and I did not want it to freeze up. I went to get in it and it was shut off. Now it will not start. I had batteries tested they are good. I put in a new starter it is good. Tried some other batteries and they would not start it either we were in +15 degree temps when I tried, what am I missing? Any suggestions?? Onyx610 Posted January 3, 2022 Share Posted January 3, 2022 Is the fuel good? Not frozen/gelled? If you had any water in the fuel it could have froze and plugged up the lines. Robo987 Posted January 4, 2022 Share Posted January 4, 2022 If fuel gels up in the filters it can plug them indefinitely. The paraffin from the fuel separates and gets stuck in the filter. JoeH Posted January 8, 2022 Share Posted January 8, 2022 Diesel gels over at 13 degrees, and thaws back out around 35 degrees. (Fahrenheit) additives reduce the gel temperature some, but -20-40 is pretty cold. Fuel is probably gelled over. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
