mcratchet1 5
I have a 2007 Mack mr688s that’s getting quite a bit of water in air tanks every day also purge valve is popping off about every 15 seconds I’m checking for air leaks now! Is this signs of air compressor failing? thanks!!

Quickfarms 527
When was the last time the cartridge in the air dryer was replaced?
mcratchet1 5
Great question and I’m not sure on so I’m going to replace it now thanks!!
Quickfarms 527
Also replace, or rebuild, the purge valve, the spitter. They have a habit of spitting a lot when they are closed. Also check the governor and the small signal hose from the governor to the air dryer

mcratchet1 5
Ok changed unloader valves no change at all. Still popping off every 10 seconds. The air compressor was replaced about 3 years ago. I guess it’s time to change again? Does anyone have any other idea what might be causing this type of problem? thanks!! mrgumby 150
I went through the same thing your going Thru one time. Did everything you did and the last thing I did cured it. Changed the air dryer and all was good. Pulled the old dryer apart and it must have froze at one time it had a crack where the filter cartridge went on it I found it by putting a torch over the whole body and in about 1 minute you could see the crack. Other than that don’t know what to tell you
