Hi new to old Mack’s and cab overs how to open the cab?? Pump the jack it gets stiff but don’t move where’s the safety latch is their one??

mh has spring loaded saftey latches built into the hydraulics . if system is working right with pump control lever pointed toward cab it should raise . takes about a two foot pump handle

Those hydraulic systems use to be leaky due to the age. Could be needing to add some fluid into the filling plug in the pump housing. Whan you put the control lever into the position as described above and start pumping the cab locks get off first under the cab airbags and than lifting cylinders start pushing the cab upwards.

Make sure the latches release while pumping.  Also I have seen the shift linkage "stick". That would try to hold cab down.  When I add fluid to the system I like ATF as it is easier to spot a leak and doesn't mind temperature extremes

Remember if it's got a hood it's no good!
