B73 camel back spring

Recommended Posts

I need part numbers or parts for the spring pads and 1 cap. No idea of what springs I have. Big rear ends.

I found the numbers for mine by getting the build sheet from the Mack Museum. Mine has the 34k suspension so it wouldn't work for you. You could also check Stengel Bros. http://www.stengelbros.com/  they have a lot of Mack springs and parts.

Post up your numbers which are stamped into the rear rear axle housing on the right side looking from the back. With these the suspension can be identified and drilled down to corresponding parts you are inquiring about.

Here is a couple of pictures of the other side. 1 good number of the cast iron cap. The others are aluminum

The number I referenced will be hand stamped into the axle housing. Looks kinda like these:

Pictures showing the spring pack and the axle housing will do more to help people identify your parts than a close up of the elephant pads.

Given you've mentioned aluminum caps and I've only seen those on 34K rated rear suspensions, look at this photo and see if what you are looking for is there. If you are looking for #9 in the diagram, there are three available; 5-7/8", 6-3/8", and 6-3/4" deep. These are called "insulator boxes" and I don't know if you'll find aluminum ones new.
