Any Australians

Recommended Posts

I live in NJ and will be moving to the central coast in NSW with in a few months time. I have been working on a 1970 R-400 for the last 5 years and was wondering if they ever made any 400s down-under and if it would be worth it to ship it over Thanks Pete.
I can understand wanting to get the hell outa' New Jersey, but all the way to Australia?

Hi Pete, Sorry, I can't answer your question re R-400, but you and your Mack are most welcome.

As it is a 1970 model, you would be eligible to keep it left hand drive, and conditional registration (ie historic) if you joined a club. (registration is then about AUD55).

I live just south of Sydney, but there are quite a few Mack guys up where you are going.

No R400s out here mate, just 600s and 700s. A bloke was tellin me the other day that they used a 185 V8 cummins in some early Macks in the states. Were they in the R400?
