2010 Mack mp7 with a intake temp code?

Recommended Posts

We have a 2011 that has had 3 harness's on it in 16 months. At one time ,we were ordering 2 at a time for each truck down because it was a 50/50 shot of it being bad. At our last Mack school we had a big discussion about wiring harness'es, They are built by hand in various 3 world countries and take lots of man hours ti make hence they have a high failure rate. Somebody in class said why dont they build them here in the US. Think what a $850 russian made harness would cost if made here by a $30 an hour union worker ? $3,000?

Get it right the first time. Pay the extra price to get it done right and not have to replace 3 or 4 harness'. Pay the extra for it to be made right the first time; here in the states or made union, it is a lot less than to have a customer not having a truck for days on end. For a company to continue to manufacture harness' and have to replace them time after time is assinine. Some management genius or mba with no common sense has the great idea to save pennys on labor costs because "the unions are lazy and make to much money" but then winds up spending dollars on replacing said parts numerous times. All the hidden costs associated should be factored in with having to replace a defective part over and over again. You lose said customer because he claims that "mack trucks are junk we had ours in for a harness 4 times and it still didn't fix it" He (customer) says "we really liked freightliner we rented while our junk mack was in the shop" then trades in his Mack for another brand. It all adds up to lost business because someone thought it would be a bright idea to outsource a critical component because the wages are extremely less. Pay for it now or pay for it later.....

if you think the harness was the issue I can contact a person that may be able to make a custome harness for you. He is a friend that made all the diffrent coustome harnesses on Indy Race cars. many times the wires are ok but the style plugs that were the issue. a bad plug lets in water, dirt etc... just let me know...

Thanks but I work for a big corporate company and they deal with P.O.'s So they wouldn't buy something from someone like him. If the harness is bad they would just buy another harness from Mack.

I work for a highway dept., we bought 6 new 2006 IH 7600 allison automatics we have had more trouble with wiring on those trucks since we got them. the transmission harness went bad so they bought a new one ($500) from IH it lasted 1 month and the wires went bad. every winter we go thru the wiring on those trucks so we cane keep plowing snow.

Well finally got around to checking on the truck again. Unplug the sensor and it changes to 2. Clear the code and sometimes it comes right back and sometimes it has to be driven a little before the code comes back. I'm thinking maybe something to do with the egr??

Check where the egr pipe meets the intake manifold 2 bolt peice there is a curved deverter pipe under it and sometimes they break off and drop down into back of intake manifold also for injector code make sure harness did not get crushed on top of rockershaft oil control valve by valve cover always good idea to take a flat file to the edges of valve so wont cut harness there. good luck .
