Vintage safety eqipment

Neat stuff. Half the fun is hunting down the "right" stuff for the truck. In the fire truck arena we try real hard to make sure all the extinguishers, nozzles, tools, etc. are what would have been on the truck when it was in service.

Money, sex, and fire; everybody thinks everyone else is getting more than they are!

I was just at a warehouse last week that had about half a dozen of those old school wheel chocks chained to the building's loading dock area, I didn't realize they were that old. And to think I threw away two complete sets of those old school reflectors when I bought my friend's truck and cleaned out his old shop . . . . . . like they say, .live and learn :pat:

When I cleaned out my '54 GMC 2 ton I found a box of "Triangle" reflectors, still in the box, under the seat. Not a clue how old they are,but except for the lenses, they're all metal. They're now back under the seat,(in a MUCH cleaner environment) where I hope to never need to use 'em.

In the tool box under the seat of mt '45 :mack1: EH,I discovered a box marked "Flares",that resembled the dreaded "old seeping, crystallized, unstable dynamite" we see mentioned in the news occasionally :o ,so I invited the Cops to come and take it away. I imagine they took the box to wherever they dispose of stuff like that and burned it or shot it fulla holes,or practiced handling it,etc. :thumb:

Other than that,my trucks appear to have evaded the "Safety Plan".

They usually just feed it to the goat they keep tied up behind the station - at least that is what they do in Mayberry.

:o Wouldn't that give the goat those "deadly" farts?
