Shawn Barrett Posted March 29, 2012 Share Posted March 29, 2012 I drive a 2007 Granite with a MaxiTorque transmission....Its developed an issue with the splitter. Everything works fine except when you are downshifting from 5-4 "highrange-too-lowrange" it clashes like hell. There is no road speed or RPM that will satisfy this thing. Unless you come to a full and complete stop, there is no way to bring it back down into low range from high range anymore. The shifter fork has been replaced and the bolts have been checked. Mack Doctor Jr. Posted March 30, 2012 Share Posted March 30, 2012 Take the fill plug out the trans and build upair press. first. Shut the truck off and listen for air leaks inside the fill plug. WE had a 9 spd one time that just had a bad O ring in the air shift fork. But more than likely it is a clutch pac. u never know there is just that chance . GOOD LUCK. shortstack Posted March 30, 2012 Share Posted March 30, 2012 I had a T318 that did that and I found the bolt holding the yoke on the back of the trans had backed off.
