Hello All, hope all is well. been busy driving, an putting Mack together, got to actually start it an crawl it around the car park the other day, still no accelerator. then it springs a leak from a core plug. who in there right mind puts non stainless core plugs in between the 2 cyl heads?? now I gotta rip 2 heads off an engine that you cant buy parts for to replace all plugs. I was lucky enough to locate 3 head gaskets, so is there anything I should look out for when pulling this down?

would be good to take compression before removing head. if a cylinder or valve seat is bad you'll know it before!

Loose valve seats were comon on these engines !It wouldn't hurt to pull each valve and tap on the seats with a brass drift while holding your thumb on the other side of the seat .

you can feel em vibrate if there loose!

I'm going to take that advice myself. Got two of em that I want to grind the valves and replace the seals at a minimum.
